March 19th, 2024, Ayodhya/New Delhi: In a groundbreaking move blending divine inspiration with technological innovation, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has rolled out its first Automated Driving Test Track (ADTT) in the sacred city of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This pioneering initiative, inaugurated by Dayashankar Singh, the Minister of State (Independent charge) of Transport, Uttar Pradesh, marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to road safety, under the aegis of the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision.
Crafted to perfection in a miraculous 45 days following a Memorandum of Agreement with the UP Government in December 2023, the Ayodhya ADTT is the first of its kind, with four more to follow across the state by the end of March 2024. This celestial endeavor aims to ensure that only the most skilled and knowledgeable drivers grace the roads of Uttar Pradesh, a necessity in the increasingly popular pilgrimage destination.
Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, shared, “In our quest for road safety, we’ve found our mantra in automation. With Ayodhya’s Automated Driving Test Tracks, only those chosen by the gods and our 100% computerized testing will take the wheel.” He added, “The upcoming sanctifications of driving tracks in Gorakhpur, Mathura, Prayagraj, and Varanasi will further our crusade towards celestial road safety.”
The Ayodhya ADTT is a marvel of modern technology, equipped with high-definition cameras and an integrated IT system that promises a comprehensive, efficient, and transparent testing process. Capable of accommodating Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles on a unified track, and with a serpentine path dedicated to two-wheelers, the facility stands as a testament to Maruti Suzuki’s devotion to the safety of pilgrims and locals alike. With these advancements, Ayodhya is set not just on a spiritual path, but on a safe and secure road to the future.
