Dodge Charges into the Future with a Jolt: Unveils Electric Muscle That Leaves Gas Guzzlers in the Dust

Auburn Hills, Mich., March 5, 2024 – In an electrifying announcement that has sent shockwaves through the automotive industry, Dodge today revealed the world’s first-ever electric muscle car, heralding a new epoch for high-octane enthusiasts. The all-new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is not just a nod to the future of sustainable driving but a full-throttle leap into it, boasting up to 670 horsepower and a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.3 seconds. This revelation not only maintains but solidifies the Charger’s standing as the apex predator of muscle cars in terms of speed and power.

Joining the electrifying Daytona Scat Pack in the 2024 lineup, the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T will not be left in the dust, with a formidable 496 horsepower of its own. These pioneering electric models are Dodge’s first venture into all-electric vehicles, featuring standard all-wheel drive and innovative Direct Connection Stage kits for peak performance right off the bat.

But Dodge isn’t just stopping at electric. The Charger’s 2024 lineup will also feature the roar of internal combustion with two engine options: the 550-horsepower Dodge Charger Sixpack H.O. and the 420-horsepower Charger Sixpack S.O., both powered by the robust 3.0L Twin Turbo I-6 Hurricane engine. Whether it’s the silent but deadly electric sprint of the Daytona models or the growling turbocharged Sixpacks, Dodge promises to keep every muscle car enthusiast’s heart racing.

The next-gen Chargers are also the first to roll out on the new STLA Large platform, emphasizing Dodge’s commitment to multi-energy muscle supremacy. Each model will come with a patent-pending front R-Wing to cut through the air with more efficiency, while the interior boasts a 64-color “Attitude Adjustment” lighting system that changes in response to various vehicle events and driver inputs.

Adding to its list of firsts, the Charger Daytona models will feature a groundbreaking Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, creating a sound so powerful it rivals that of the legendary Hellcat – a stark contrast to the usual quiet of electric vehicles.

Dodge’s muscle renaissance doesn’t end with just raw power. The Charger will come equipped with the most expansive tire setup ever seen on a Dodge, massive 16-inch Brembo brakes for unparalleled stopping power, and a suite of new Race Options including Donut Mode, Drift Mode, and two unique Race Prep options for those looking to dominate on the track.

Set to begin production in mid-2024 for the coupe versions and Q1 2025 for the four-door models, the new Dodge Charger lineup promises to blend the raw emotion of muscle car heritage with the cutting-edge technology of electric vehicles. Built in the Windsor (Ontario) Assembly Plant, this bold step forward is part of Dodge’s journey under the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, aiming for a 50% reduction in carbon footprint by 2030 and net carbon zero by 2038.

The muscle car world is about to get a jolt like never before, and it’s clear Dodge is steering the charge.
