THC & Airbus Soar to New Heights: Signs Whopping Deal for 120 Choppers, Elevating Saudi Skies with Tourism & EMS Wings

Anaheim, California – In a move that has the aviation world buzzing, The Helicopter Company (THC) of Saudi Arabia, known for its lofty ambitions and backed by the kingdom’s Public Investment Fund, has inked a monumental deal with Airbus at the HAI Heli-Expo held at the Anaheim Convention Center. This agreement marks a significant milestone, as THC gears up to bolster its fleet with an eye-popping number of up to 120 Airbus helicopters, promising to redefine the skies over the next five to seven years.

Under this groundbreaking framework, THC has placed a firm order for a mix of eight nimble H125s and ten versatile H145s, converting previous options into a solid commitment that skyrockets THC’s total firm Airbus helicopter count to an impressive 60, with 25 already gracing the skies.

The newly acquired H125s are set to enhance THC’s range of services, including aerial work and whisking tourists across Saudi’s breathtaking landscapes. Meanwhile, the H145s are tasked with critical missions ranging from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to providing sleek corporate transport.

Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, reminisced about the burgeoning partnership with THC that took off in 2020 with an initial contract for 10 H125s. “Our relationship has evolved, stretching beyond the horizons of helicopter delivery to exploring sustainable aviation fuel avenues in the region. This latest deal not only broadens our collaboration but cements our commitment to advancing helicopter activities,” he noted, lauding THC’s pivotal role in this aerial alliance.

Capt Arnaud Martinez, at the helm of THC, expressed enthusiasm over this transformative agreement with Airbus, highlighting its significance in THC’s expansion narrative and its contribution towards realizing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. “This partnership is not just about adding helicopters to our fleet; it’s about reshaping the aviation landscape together with Airbus and demonstrating the limitless possibilities in aviation with the right ally,” Martinez stated, envisioning a future where innovation and cooperation take flight.

THC, a trailblazer in Saudi’s commercial helicopter services, has been instrumental in integrating the H145 for EMS and supporting iconic events like the Dakar Rally. The addition of the ACH160 for Red Sea Global tourism last year marks another feather in its cap, underscoring its commitment to enhancing Saudi’s aviation sector.

With the H125 boasting over 40 million flight hours and the H145 renowned for its quiet operation and performance in demanding conditions, this deal is set to elevate THC’s service offerings, aligning with the Saudi Public Investment Fund’s vision to unlock new aviation sectors and provide efficient transport services across the kingdom.

As THC showcases its expanding fleet and vision at the Anaheim Convention Center (stand #7405), the sky’s the limit for what’s next in this high-flying partnership.
