Eclipse Chasers in Broncos: Ford’s Exclusive Starry Soiree for SUV Aficionados

DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 28, 2024 – As the celestial spectacle of a total solar eclipse nears, Ford Motor Company gears up to host an exclusive viewing event for Bronco and Bronco Sport owners. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Bronco Off-Roadeo near Austin, Texas, this cosmic congregation promises an unmatched view of the April 8 eclipse, a rare astronomical event.

With local accommodations near capacity, Ford’s initiative offers a unique alternative. The two-night camping extravaganza, priced at $1,995 (INR 1.65 lakh) for up to four people, includes five meals and the opportunity to participate in one of 60 guided Bronco trail drives. For those seeking a shorter adventure, a day package is available at $595 (INR 49,323), covering two meals and the eclipse viewing.

Ford’s event coincides with the debut of the much-anticipated Bronco Raptor Blackout Package, set to be unveiled immediately after the eclipse.

According to USA Today, Texas’ Hill Country, home to Bronco Off-Roadeo, is among the premier locations in the U.S. for eclipse watching. The total eclipse, forming a 115-mile-wide shadow path from Mexico to Canada, will last around 4 minutes and 13 seconds at the event site, one of the longest durations nationwide.

Matt Simpson, Ford’s general manager of Enthusiast Vehicles, expressed excitement about the event, noting the high satisfaction rates of previous Bronco Off-Roadeo attendees and the added allure of the eclipse.

The Bronco Off-Roadeo, included with every Bronco model purchase, is renowned for its challenging trails and expert guidance, catering to all skill levels. With locations in Texas, Nevada, Utah, and New Hampshire, it’s a hub for off-roading enthusiasts.

Registration for the eclipse viewing event is open through Bronco Nation, with options for both the camping and day experiences. A waitlist will be available for those unable to secure a spot initially.

Participants are advised to bring their own camping gear, with a refund policy allowing cancellations up to two weeks before the eclipse. This unique event, combining the thrill of off-roading with the wonder of a solar eclipse, promises to be a memorable experience for all Bronco enthusiasts.
