Maruti Suzuki Announces Winners of Mobility Startup Incubation Program, Opens Applications for Next Cohort

New Delhi, January 8, 2024 – Maruti Suzuki India Limited, a leading automobile manufacturer, has successfully completed the second cohort of its groundbreaking ‘Incubation Program for Mobility Startups’. In a significant move, the program has announced ‘Woloo’, ‘Hala Mobility’, and ‘SwitchOn’ as the winners. These early-stage startups are set to collaborate closely with Maruti Suzuki to develop innovative business solutions, marking a step forward in the integration of disruptive technologies in the automobile industry.

This initiative, which aligns with the Government’s ‘Startup India’ vision, is conducted in collaboration with the Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-Bangalore). It represents a unique synergy between academia and industry, fostering an environment of innovation and practical application in the mobility sector.

Cohort 3 Applications Now Open

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki has announced the opening of applications for the 3rd Cohort of the Incubation Program. This presents a fresh opportunity for early-stage, technology-led startups specializing in areas such as Green Manufacturing, Mobility and Mobility Infrastructure, Vehicle Technology, Data & AI, and Clean Tech. Interested startups are invited to visit for more details and to apply.

The Incubation Program for Mobility Startups, a pioneering initiative by Maruti Suzuki, aims to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications in the automobile sector. The program received an overwhelming response with over 300 applications for its 2nd Cohort. Following rigorous evaluation rounds by experts from Maruti Suzuki and NSRCEL, the top eight startups were selected for a comprehensive 6-month incubation journey.

Throughout the program, the startups benefited from extensive training and mentorship from experts in the industry, academia, and venture capitalists. This guidance was instrumental in refining their solutions for real-world application and facilitating investor connections. In line with the Government’s ‘Start-up India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives, Maruti Suzuki continues to foster innovation through various programs, including the Pre-Incubation Program (Nurture), Incubation Program, Mobility and Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL), and the Mobility Challenge.
