January 3, 2024 – KGM Motors UK has set a dynamic course for 2024, announcing a comprehensive overhaul of its UK dealership network to reflect its new corporate identity by mid-2024. This move comes in the wake of the company’s rebranding from SsangYong Motors UK to KGM Motors, a change that occurred on December 19 last year, signaling a strategic alignment with KGM Global’s renewed brand purpose and forward-thinking strategy.
The adoption of KGM’s new global corporate identity represents a fundamental shift from its traditional manufacturing-centric approach, marking the first major step towards transforming into a next-generation full mobility company. This transition emphasizes KGM’s commitment to innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.
Kevin Griffin, managing director of KGM Motors UK, elaborated on this pivotal development: “Our brand promise is rooted in honesty and integrity, forming the bedrock of KGM Motor UK’s mission. Embracing the global corporate identity change is a key element of our vision, poised to elevate brand perception and enhance customer satisfaction. This shift transcends traditional manufacturing and sales, propelling us towards a future-focused brand leveraging new technologies, electrification, autonomous driving, and connectivity. This rebrand is a crucial milestone in our journey.”
Aligned with the new ethos of KGM Global, KGM Motors UK is dedicated to embracing these changes, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality service and reliable vehicles focused on customer comfort and safety. This commitment is supported by a robust 73-strong dealer network.
Andrew Cookson, head of franchising at KGM Motors UK, shared his vision: “As an ambitious, growing brand, the new corporate identity presents a fantastic opportunity for us to collaborate with our partners in enhancing the quality of our dealerships and customer service. We’re exploring and implementing innovative solutions in the UK market to meet this goal. While other brands are reorganizing and reducing their dealer numbers, we see this as a chance to expand our presence. The rollout of this programme will commence in January and is expected to be completed by mid-2024.”
The revamped dealer signage will prominently feature the KGM name alongside the iconic winged logo, a tribute to the brand’s heritage since 1954. The rebranding introduces a sophisticated new color scheme of white on black, replacing the traditional white on blue. Interior showroom designs will include a black wall with the winged logo in customer waiting areas and updated, modern point-of-sale materials.
This rebranding effort reflects KGM’s substantial growth and strong product range, which has rapidly expanded in the UK market. By employing luxury materials and advanced technology, KGM vehicles are distinguished by high-quality features, moving beyond the traditional ‘value for money’ perception. KGM remains focused on producing vehicles of exceptional quality.
With over 70 years of automotive history, KGM continues to be South Korea’s leading SUV manufacturer, now poised to redefine itself as a future-oriented mobility pioneer.
