Sonalika Crosses 1.21 Lakh Tractor Sales in Seven Months, Sets New Company Record

New Delhi: Sonalika Tractors has reported its highest-ever cumulative sales for the April–October period, selling 1,21,148 tractors across domestic and international markets in 2026. The milestone comes as the Indian tractor manufacturer celebrates its 30th anniversary, with the company also achieving its fastest-ever sales of 1 lakh tractors in the domestic market.

The seven-month performance marks a new sales record for Sonalika, which said its domestic business has consistently outpaced overall industry growth. The company attributed the achievement to its manufacturing capabilities, market responsiveness and expanding portfolio of agricultural machinery.

The milestone is particularly significant for Sonalika’s Indian operations, where the company reached the 1 lakh domestic tractor sales mark in its shortest recorded timeframe. The performance suggests continued demand for agricultural mechanisation, although the company did not disclose a year-on-year growth percentage or a separate export sales breakdown in its announcement.

Sonalika Marks 30 Years with Record Tractor Sales

Sonalika’s latest performance coincides with three decades of operations in the agricultural machinery sector. The company has expanded its presence in domestic and overseas markets, supported by its integrated tractor manufacturing facility in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.

The manufacturer attributes its growth to a combination of agricultural technology, application-specific engineering and products designed to meet different farming requirements.

Its product portfolio includes the recently introduced Gold series of tractors, which the company has highlighted as part of its efforts to address evolving customer expectations.

The latest sales figures also reflect the importance of the domestic agricultural equipment market to Sonalika’s overall business, even as exports remain a significant part of its operations.

Raman Mittal Highlights Growing Farmer Aspirations

Commenting on the company’s sales performance, Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said:

“Our highest ever YTM overall sales of 1,21,148 tractors underscores one of the most remarkable chapters in our 30-year journey and our collective strength that we have developed across markets. This is driven by our fastest ever 1 lakh tractor sales clocked in the domestic market this year, underlining the sheer intensity with which we have delivered on every frontier.

What makes India’s rural economy even more exciting is the remarkable ambition, resilience and growing appetite of farmers to invest in their future readiness with our advanced range of tractors including the new Gold series. As the aspirations of Indian farmers grow bigger, so does our responsibility to deliver better, innovate faster and lead with greater determination with an intensity that keeps us ahead of the curve.”

Manufacturing Capacity and Farmer Demand Remain Central

Sonalika’s Hoshiarpur manufacturing facility continues to play a central role in its production strategy. The company describes the facility as the world’s largest integrated tractor manufacturing plant, supporting its ability to serve customers across multiple markets.

The manufacturer has also emphasised the importance of aligning tractor technology with specific agricultural applications, particularly as farmers increasingly consider mechanisation and equipment upgrades.

While tractor sales are influenced by several factors, including agricultural income, seasonal demand and rural investment, Sonalika’s latest figures underline the scale of its domestic operations.

For the company, reaching the 1 lakh domestic sales milestone faster than ever represents more than another entry in its record books. It also sets a higher benchmark for the months ahead.

As India’s agricultural sector continues to modernise, tractor manufacturers face the challenge of balancing affordability, productivity and increasingly sophisticated technology. Sonalika’s record April–October performance illustrates the commercial opportunities in that transition, while highlighting how competition for India’s next generation of agricultural equipment buyers is likely to remain intense.
