In a move that brings a touch of European engineering to the misty hills of the North-East, Škoda Auto India has inaugurated its first-ever dealership in Shillong, marking the brand’s official entry into the state of Meghalaya. With this launch, the Czech carmaker continues its steady expansion across India, proving that good cars—like good views—belong everywhere.
The new Sales, Service and Spares (3S) facility, located in Laitkor Rngi, Shillong, has been established in partnership with SSB Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., operating as La i Jong Škoda. The dealership brings Škoda’s entire product portfolio and premium ownership experience closer to customers in the region, making it easier for enthusiasts in Meghalaya to get behind the wheel of the brand’s popular models.
Spread across a thoughtfully designed layout, the facility includes a 3,000 sq. ft. showroom capable of displaying four vehicles, complemented by a 7,250 sq. ft. service area with three service bays. The dealership follows Škoda’s Modern Solid global design philosophy, offering a welcoming and contemporary environment for customers—because buying a car should feel as refined as driving one.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, highlighted the importance of the North-East market in the brand’s growth strategy. He said the new Shillong facility reflects the company’s commitment to making Škoda more accessible across India while strengthening its nationwide network.
“With the inauguration of our first-ever customer touchpoint in Shillong, we are delighted to bring Škoda Auto closer to customers in Meghalaya. The North-East is an emerging and promising market for us, and expanding our network footprint here reflects our commitment to accessibility,” Gupta said. He added that following the brand’s biggest-ever year in India in 2025, expanding its dealer network continues to remain a key priority.
Customers visiting the new dealership will be able to explore Škoda’s current lineup in India, including the compact Kylaq, the popular Kushaq SUV, the stylish Slavia sedan, and the premium Kodiaq SUV. In other words, from city commuters to family SUVs, the entire Czech garage is now just a short drive away for buyers in Shillong.
