Kia India Teams Up with BPCL to Power Up EV Charging Network to 15,000+ Points, Boosting Range Confidence Nationwide

In a move that will make EV owners breathe easier — and maybe argue less with their navigation apps — Kia India has announced a major expansion of its public EV charging ecosystem. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to grow its K-Charge network to 15,000+ charging touchpoints nationwide.

The partnership is aimed at making EV ownership more practical, travel-friendly, and far less dependent on “hope there’s a charger ahead” optimism.

🔌 K-Charge Network Gets a Nationwide Boost

With this strategic collaboration, Kia India will onboard over 3,000 BPCL charging points into its K-Charge platform. The result: wider charging coverage across highways, cities, and key travel corridors, directly addressing one of the biggest EV adoption barriers — range confidence.

The announcement comes as India’s EV market gathers speed and customers increasingly expect charging access to be as common as tea stalls — or at least almost.

According to Kia India, the enlarged K-Charge network will help customers plan longer trips with greater assurance and reduce dependence on fragmented charging providers.

🗣️ What Kia India Says

Commenting on the development, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said the focus is squarely on convenience and customer confidence:

“Convenience and confidence are critical to EV adoption. Through this partnership with BPCL, we are making EV ownership more practical and stress-free for our customers by expanding charging access at scale. Strengthening the K-Charge network allows Kia EV customers to plan journeys with greater assurance, while supporting India’s broader transition to sustainable mobility.”

🗺️ India Energy Week Signing Adds Strategic Weight

The MoU was formalised on the sidelines of the 4th edition of India Energy Week 2026, held from 27–30 January at the ONGC Academy Training Institute in Goa — a fitting venue for an announcement all about energy, mobility, and the future of fuel (the plug-in kind).

By integrating BPCL’s public charging infrastructure into K-Charge, Kia is building a more unified and discoverable charging map for its customers across regions.

📱 One App, One Map, One Less Headache

K-Charge is accessible through the MyKia app and Kia India website, allowing users to:

  • Locate nearby charging stations
  • Navigate directly to them
  • Initiate and pay for charging
  • Access multiple charging providers via one platform

This single-window approach simplifies EV ownership and reduces the need to juggle multiple apps — because your phone battery also deserves range confidence.

⚡ Backing a Growing EV Garage

The charging expansion aligns with Kia India’s expanding EV portfolio, which includes:

  • Kia Carens Clavis EV — the brand’s first made-in-India EV with a practical 7-seater layout
  • Kia EV6 — the performance-oriented global electric crossover
  • Kia EV9 — the flagship electric SUV with full-size presence and futuristic tech

With infrastructure scaling alongside product launches, Kia India is positioning itself not just as an EV seller — but as an EV enabler.

As EV adoption accelerates in India, Kia India’s tie-up with BPCL signals a clear direction: charging networks must grow as fast as electric dreams. And if this pace continues, “Where will we charge?” may soon be replaced with the far more pleasant question — “Coffee break or quick charge break?”
