Mahindra’s Tractor Triumph: Farm Equipment Business Ploughs Ahead with 46% Domestic Growth in January 2026

Mumbai: If tractors had a victory lap, January 2026 would belong to Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.. The company’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has kicked off the new year with a bumper performance, clocking an impressive 46% year-on-year growth in the domestic market.

Mahindra sold 38,484 tractors in India in January 2026, compared to 26,305 units in the same month last year—clear proof that India’s farms are not just sowing crops, but also sowing confidence.

Total Sales Hit 40,643 Units

Including exports, Mahindra’s total tractor sales stood at 40,643 units, up from 27,557 units in January 2025. The export story was equally powerful, with 2,159 units shipped overseas, registering a remarkable 72% growth.

In simple terms: Mahindra tractors are not only ruling Indian fields, but are also making their presence felt well beyond the country’s borders.

What’s Driving the Growth?

According to Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the momentum is rooted in strong agricultural fundamentals.

High reservoir levels have supported record Rabi sowing, creating healthy demand for farm mechanisation. Add to that the expectations of increased government support and higher rural development allocation in the Union Budget, and you have a perfect recipe for sustained growth.

This performance underlines a larger trend: Indian agriculture is steadily moving towards greater mechanisation, with farmers investing more in productivity-enhancing equipment. And Mahindra, being the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, continues to sit comfortably in the driver’s seat.

Or as one might say—while others talk about economic green shoots, Mahindra is already harvesting them… with a 46% growth engine under the hood.
