Gurugram: In a month where most automakers might hit the snooze button during plant maintenance, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) revved through May 2025 with a total of 58,701 units sold—43,861 units in the domestic market and 14,840 sent packing to international shores.
Hyundai’s biannual week-long maintenance shutdown at its Chennai plant did manage to temporarily sideline a few star players from the lineup. But despite a reduced pit crew and a few cars cooling off in the garage, the brand’s performance stayed anything but idle.
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and COO at HMIL, shared, “While May gave us our regular maintenance timeout, our sales figures didn’t take a pit stop. Exports continue to grow strong, proving that ‘Make in India, Made for the World’ isn’t just a slogan—it’s a turbocharged reality.”
Even with critical models briefly out of the fast lane, Hyundai’s export game remained in high gear, reinforcing its status as India’s automotive ambassador to the world. And with global geopolitical fog starting to lift and economic roads looking smoother ahead, the company expects demand to keep climbing in both home and away fixtures.
In short, Hyundai’s May may have had a pitstop, but the brand’s momentum? Still very much full throttle.
