Gurugram:
As the countdown to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 begins, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has decided that the trophy deserves its own India tour—long before the players do. Under its multi-year Premier Partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC), Hyundai has announced ‘Hyundai Trophy Connect’, a special fan engagement initiative that brings the iconic T20 World Cup Trophy closer to cricket lovers across three major cities.
The coveted silverware will be displayed at:
- Mumbai: High Street Phoenix (28–29 January 2026)
- Bengaluru: Phoenix Mall of Asia (30 January 2026)
- Gurugram: DLF CyberHub (1 February 2026)
For fans, this is a rare chance to see the trophy up close, click photos, and finally prove to relatives that “haan, asli trophy hi thi.”
Adding some automotive sparkle to the cricket celebration, Hyundai will also showcase its most popular SUV, the Hyundai Creta, giving visitors the option to admire both horsepower and batting power under one roof.
Speaking about the initiative, Virat Khullar, Head – Marketing, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said,
“Cricket in India is more than just a sport, it is a shared emotion that unites millions. Driven by Passion, Hyundai’s partnership with the ICC and the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy display across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Gurugram is designed to bring fans closer to the game they love. Through these fan-centered engagements, we reaffirm our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that embody the passion, pride and unity cricket evokes worldwide.”
From the ICC side, Anurag Dahiya, Chief Commercial Officer, ICC, added,
“We are delighted to bring the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy closer to fans in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Gurugram through Hyundai Trophy Connect. The event celebrates cricket’s power to unite millions and gives fans a rare opportunity to engage with one of the most coveted symbols in global cricket. This partnership marks the beginning of a meaningful journey where Hyundai and ICC will deepen fan engagement and take cricket beyond stadiums to the heart of its most passionate audiences.”
Beyond just looking at the trophy from a safe distance, Hyundai has planned a full immersive cricket experience. Fans can test their love for the game at the quirky ‘Deewangi Meter’, where the most passionate supporters stand a chance to win ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match tickets—basically turning enthusiasm into potential stadium entry.
Other attractions include a stadium-style setup, cricket-inspired photo zones, and even a VR cricket game, allowing fans to live out their World Cup dreams without needing national selection trials.
With Hyundai Trophy Connect, the message is clear: before the World Cup conquers the world, it’s making sure it conquers Indian malls first. And for fans, it’s the closest they’ll get to lifting the trophy—at least until Team India does it for real.
