Gurgaon: MINI India has officially launched the all-new MINI Convertible in the country, bringing open-top motoring back into the spotlight—quite literally. Priced at ₹58.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the iconic drop-top arrives as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and is now available for booking at all MINI India authorised dealerships, with deliveries commencing immediately.
MINI has never been about blending in, and the new Convertible proudly carries that tradition forward. It’s not just a car—it’s a personality with wheels, an antidote to automotive boredom, and possibly the most stylish excuse to wear sunglasses even at traffic lights. With infinite headroom and a roof that folds away in just 18 seconds, the MINI Convertible promises pure, wind-in-the-hair freedom, whether you’re cruising through the city, tackling twisty hill roads, or stretching its legs on long highways.

Speaking on the launch, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said,
“At MINI, we believe life is too short for boring cars. The all-new MINI Convertible is built for those who live in the moment and leave a mark wherever they go. Think top down, smiles up—and the best experience awaits.”
Design: Classic MINI, Now with More Sunshine
The exterior stays true to MINI’s unmistakable DNA, featuring iconic round LED headlights, a newly designed front grille, and short overhangs that emphasise its sporty stance. A playful welcome and goodbye animation—with MINI logo projections—adds charm even before you step inside.
The Convertible rides on 18-inch alloy wheels (Slide Spoke and Flash Spoke 2-tone options) and is offered in four striking colours:
- British Racing Green
- Chili Red
- Sunny Side Yellow
- Ocean Wave Green
The rear features vertically aligned LED tail lamps and a wide-set stance that looks confident—roof on or off.
Roof Down, Practicality Up
The black soft top isn’t just stylish—it’s clever too. It opens fully in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 km/h, closes in 15 seconds, and can also function as a sunroof, opening up to 40 cm. Boot space stands at 160 litres with the roof down and 215 litres when closed—enough for weekend bags and spontaneous road trips.
Interior: Retro Soul, Digital Brain
Inside, the MINI Convertible blends classic design cues with cutting-edge tech. The highlight is the round high-resolution OLED display, known as the MINI Interaction Unit, powered by MINI Operating System 9. The interface is intuitive, smartphone-like, and instantly familiar.
Key features include:
- MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant (“Hey MINI”)
- MINI Digital Key Plus
- Head-Up Display
- Harman Kardon Surround Sound
- Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Remote Services & Software Upgrades
The MINI Experience Modes—including Go-Kart, Green and Vivid—transform the cabin ambience with tailored lighting, sound and graphics.
Sports Seats with electric adjustment are finished in Vescin, a sustainable, leather-free upholstery made from recycled materials, while the driver also benefits from an Active Seat for added comfort.
Performance: Go-Kart DNA, Turbocharged
Under the bonnet, the all-new MINI Convertible S packs a punch with a 2.0-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, delivering:
- 204 hp
- 300 Nm of torque
- 0–100 km/h in 6.9 seconds
- Top speed: 240 km/h
Power is sent through a 7-speed Steptronic Sport dual-clutch transmission, ensuring quick shifts and engaging performance—roof down, grin guaranteed.
Safety & Assistance
The MINI Convertible comes well-equipped with safety and driver assistance features such as:
- Cruise Control
- Parking Assistant
- Rear View Camera
- Dynamic Stability Control
- Multiple airbags
- ABS with Cornering Brake Control
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
Ownership & Finance
The car is backed by a 2-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 24×7 Roadside Assistance, and flexible service packages extendable up to 10 years / 1,00,000 km. MINI Smart Finance sweetens the deal with EMIs starting at ₹58,500 per month, along with assured buyback options.
The all-new MINI Convertible isn’t just about performance numbers or features—it’s about emotion. It’s for those who believe driving should feel special every single day. After all, when the roof comes down, worries tend to fly out too.
