New Delhi – In a grand celebration of India’s growing automotive and mobility sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The expo, the largest of its kind in India, spans three venues across the National Capital Region, with participation from over 9,000 exhibitors and more than 2.5 lakh visitors expected over the next five days.
During his address, PM Modi emphasized India’s unprecedented transformation in the mobility sector, fueled by the government’s vision for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). He declared that the ease of travel was now a top priority for the nation, highlighting ongoing infrastructural advancements and technology integration, including FASTag and the National Common Mobility Card.
He outlined his vision for India’s mobility future through the “Seven Cs”: Common, Connected, Convenient, Congestion-free, Charged, Clean, and Cutting-edge, stressing the importance of green technologies such as Electric Vehicles (EVs), Hydrogen Fuel, and Biofuels. The Prime Minister also praised the success of the “Make in India” initiative, noting how it is driving India’s auto industry growth and making the country an attractive destination for global investors.
PM Modi highlighted India’s rapidly growing youth population and expanding middle class as key drivers of automotive demand. With the sale of 2.5 crore cars annually, India’s auto market is poised for continued growth. He also referenced the auto sector’s 12% growth over the past year and the increasing exports under the banner of “Make in India, Make for the World.”
The Expo also shines a spotlight on India’s commitment to green mobility, with electric vehicle sales skyrocketing over 640 times in the last decade. The government’s proactive support for electric mobility, through initiatives like the FAME-2 scheme and the PM E-Drive initiative, was underscored as crucial for expanding the EV ecosystem and infrastructure.
The event witnessed a host of key dignitaries, including Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal, and Piyush Goyal, who echoed PM Modi’s sentiments about India’s future as a leader in the global mobility space.
With global participation, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 aims to unite the mobility value chain, showcasing cutting-edge innovations and providing a platform for collaboration across industry and government sectors. The expo promises to be a turning point for India’s automotive landscape, accelerating the nation’s journey toward a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future.
