Five New Centres Opened, Bridging Gaps in High-Altitude Healthcare Access
New Delhi: In a significant stride towards democratizing healthcare access, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited, has unveiled five new Telemedicine Centres under its Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative. This expansion marks a critical step in delivering essential healthcare services to some of India’s most remote and challenging terrains—Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The newly established Telemedicine Centres are strategically located in Ladakh’s Kargil, Drass, Leh, and Kharu regions, alongside Bhalla in Jammu & Kashmir. These additions bring HMIF’s telemedicine footprint to an impressive 52 centres nationwide, enabling healthcare access for over 1.5 million individuals, primarily from underserved rural areas.
Speaking about the initiative, Puneet Anand, Vertical Head – Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL, emphasized the program’s transformative impact:
“Access to quality healthcare is a cornerstone of community development. With the Sparsh Sanjeevani program, Hyundai is committed to its global vision of Progress for Humanity. Expanding into Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir reinforces our dedication to bridging healthcare disparities and bringing essential medical services to regions that face geographical and infrastructural challenges.”
Through these centres, residents of Ladakh’s rugged, high-altitude villages and Jammu & Kashmir’s rural communities can now consult with medical experts remotely, reducing the burden of traveling long distances for basic healthcare.
Hyundai Motor’s Sparsh Sanjeevani initiative is setting a new benchmark in CSR-driven healthcare solutions, ensuring that every heartbeat—no matter how far—has access to the care it deserves.
