Mumbai: Tata Motors, a leader in India’s commercial vehicle market, has clinched a significant contract to deliver 1,000 Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis to the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). This large-scale order, secured through a competitive e-bidding process within government tendering protocols, will see Tata Motors supplying the chassis in phases, in line with mutually agreed terms.
This contract follows Tata Motors’ successful fulfillment of a prior UPSRTC order for 1,350 bus chassis last year, which are currently operational across Uttar Pradesh, providing reliable service to commuters. The Tata LPO 1618 chassis is tailored for long-distance and intercity travel, known for its robust build, passenger comfort, and low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
“We are honored to continue our partnership with UPSRTC to support their commitment to expanding public transport,” stated Anand S, Vice President and Head of Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business at Tata Motors. “The Tata LPO 1618 chassis is designed for durability, offering high uptime with low operational costs, and we look forward to commencing the deliveries as per UPSRTC’s guidance.”
