MINI Cooper Oxford Edition Pre-Launch Bookings Open in India, Limited Units Confirmed

The special-edition MINI Cooper 3-door pays tribute to the brand’s British heritage with Union Jack-inspired styling, including a distinctive contrast roof.

Gurugram: MINI India has opened pre-launch bookings for the MINI Cooper Oxford Edition, a limited-quantity special edition of its iconic three-door hatchback. Celebrating the brand’s historic connection with Oxford, United Kingdom, the new edition introduces distinctive British-inspired design elements, most notably a Union Jack motif on the contrast roof.

The Oxford Edition is intended to highlight MINI’s British origins while adding a distinctive visual identity to the contemporary Cooper. The company has confirmed that the model will be available in limited quantities across India, although pricing, the number of units allocated to the market and the official launch date have not been disclosed in the announcement.

A Tribute to Oxford, Where MINI’s Story Began

Oxford occupies a significant place in MINI’s automotive history. The original Mini was first manufactured in the British city in 1959, establishing the foundations of a nameplate that would become one of the most recognisable in the automotive industry.

Since 2001, the BMW Group has produced modern MINI vehicles at the same manufacturing site, maintaining a connection between the brand’s historic beginnings and its contemporary products.

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition acknowledges this legacy through design elements inspired by Britain’s national identity.

Its most prominent distinguishing feature is the Union Jack displayed on the contrasting roof, reinforcing the car’s British character. The special edition also incorporates Union Jack-inspired details elsewhere in its design, according to the company.

MINI has long embraced unconventional styling and personalisation, and the Oxford Edition continues that approach. In this case, the car’s British identity is quite literally written across the roof.

MINI Cooper Oxford Edition: Booking Details and Availability

Customers interested in purchasing the MINI Cooper Oxford Edition can contact their nearest authorised MINI dealership to make a pre-launch booking.

MINI currently operates 18 sales touchpoints across 17 Indian cities, providing access to customers in major metropolitan areas and several emerging luxury-car markets.

Its dealership network includes Bird Automotive and Deutsche Motoren in Delhi NCR, Infinity Cars in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, Krishna Automobiles in Chandigarh, and KUN Exclusive in Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Other authorised dealerships include Bavaria Motors in Pune, EVM Autokraft in Kochi, Gallops Autohaus in Ahmedabad, OSL Prestige in Kolkata, Speed Motorwagen in Lucknow, Titanium Autos in Guwahati and Ranchi, Eminent Cars in Surat, and Sanghi Classic in Jaipur and Jodhpur.

For aftersales support, MINI’s service operations are integrated with the wider BMW Group India network, offering 51 service touchpoints across 36 cities.

Exterior, Interior and Further Information

MINI has directed prospective customers to its official Indian website, mini.in, where additional details about the Oxford Edition’s exterior, interior, equipment highlights and features can be explored.

The website also provides an image gallery showcasing the vehicle and allows customers to register their interest or request a callback from an authorised MINI dealer.

The announcement does not specify whether the special edition will receive mechanical changes or equipment upgrades beyond its distinctive design treatment.

British Heritage Meets India’s Premium Hatchback Market

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition arrives as another example of how automotive manufacturers are using limited-edition models to highlight brand heritage and create a distinctive identity for established nameplates.

Rather than introducing an entirely new model, MINI is placing renewed emphasis on the Cooper’s history, particularly its connection with the Oxford manufacturing facility that helped establish the original Mini more than six decades ago.

For Indian customers, the Oxford Edition offers a different interpretation of the familiar three-door Cooper, with its Union Jack roof serving as the clearest reminder of the car’s origins.

With pre-launch bookings now open and availability restricted to limited quantities, the Oxford Edition demonstrates MINI’s continuing effort to connect its modern vehicles with the British heritage that remains central to the brand’s identity.
