Mumbai: Tata.Cars has launched the Tata Sierra Legend Series, introducing five new variants aimed at making the SUV’s more premium cabin features available across a wider section of the range. Prices start at ₹11.99 lakh, with the line-up offered across petrol and diesel powertrains along with manual and automatic transmission options.
The five variants — Smart+ L, Pure L, Pure L (O), Pure+ L and Adventure+ L — progressively add features including leatherette upholstery, larger infotainment displays, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat and a 360-degree camera system.
Tata says the new range builds on the Sierra’s “Lifespace on the Go” philosophy while retaining its existing design, safety systems, technology and SUV capabilities.

The Smart+ L, priced from ₹11.99 lakh, becomes the entry point to the Legend Series. It adds leatherette seats, door trims and armrests, steering-mounted controls, auto-fold ORVMs and Passive Entry & Passive Start, or PEPS.
The variant also comes with Bi-LED projector headlamps, six airbags, an Electronic Parking Brake and Electronic Stability Programme with more than 20 functions.
Moving up the range, the Pure L costs ₹13.79 lakh and adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a 26.03 cm touchscreen infotainment system, an eight-speaker audio system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Cruise control, Hill Descent Control and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System are also included.
For another ₹50,000, the Pure L (O), priced at ₹14.29 lakh, adds Tata’s Panoramax voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, along with automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
It is the sort of feature increasingly expected in this corner of the SUV market, where a large glass roof has become almost as important to the specification sheet as the engine underneath it.
Pure+ L adds ventilated seats and powered driver’s seat
Priced at ₹14.99 lakh, the Pure+ L shifts the focus further towards passenger comfort.
It includes ventilated front seats, a six-way powered driver’s seat with thigh-support extender and Boss Mode.
The variant also gets dual-zone fully automatic climate control and dual rear 65W USB-C fast chargers, extending some of the convenience upgrades to passengers in the second row as well.
Adventure+ L brings more technology and capability
At the top of the new Legend Series is the Adventure+ L, priced at ₹16.99 lakh.
Its equipment list includes a 360-degree HD Surround View System with 4Sight, Superglide Suspension with FDD, multiple terrain modes and a 31.24 cm touchscreen infotainment system.
It also receives a 26.03 cm digital cockpit with navigation, front parking sensors, ambient lighting, a two-stage reclining rear seat, wireless charging and a cooled glovebox.
The combination positions the Adventure+ L as the most technology- and capability-focused model within the newly introduced five-variant range.
Three engine choices continue
The Legend Series does not introduce any new powertrain options. Buyers can continue to choose between three engines: the 1.5-litre Hyperion TGDi petrol, 1.5-litre Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel.
Manual and automatic transmission options are available across the range, depending on the powertrain and variant.
Tata also says every Sierra continues to use a 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated body structure and is equipped as standard with six airbags, ESP with 20 functions and all-wheel disc brakes.

Expanding the Sierra range
Tata describes the Sierra around three themes — Escape Chaos, Escape Limits and Escape Ordinary — encompassing interior space and comfort, capability, technology and design.
The Legend Series primarily expands the availability of comfort and convenience equipment previously associated with higher points in the line-up, rather than altering the basic mechanical character of the SUV.
That approach reflects a broader trend in India’s mid-size SUV market, where equipment levels and cabin experience have become increasingly important differentiators alongside engine performance, safety and pricing.
With the Legend Series, Tata is effectively filling more of the gaps between the Sierra’s existing variants, giving buyers additional combinations of equipment and price. In an increasingly crowded SUV segment, sometimes the biggest battle is not over adding an entirely new model, but ensuring there is a variant for nearly every buyer who walks into the showroom.
