Citroën India Launches New AircrossX, BasaltX Variants and Longer-Range ë-C3X Extended

Chennai: Citroën India has expanded its product portfolio with new variants of the AircrossX and BasaltX, while also introducing the ë-C3X Extended with a certified driving range of 330 km. The updated line-up will be available across the company’s nationwide network from September 7, 2026.

The portfolio expansion comes ahead of India’s festive season, a period when carmakers traditionally sharpen their offers and customers often sharpen their calculators. Citroën said the new additions are aimed at widening customer choice across performance, comfort, family usage and electric mobility.

The new AircrossX and BasaltX variants include options for turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines, with the naturally aspirated variants available in both petrol and CNG. The company has introduced You Turbo and Max NA variants across the AircrossX and BasaltX range.

According to Citroën, the You Turbo variant is intended to make turbocharged performance more accessible to buyers seeking stronger drivability for city and highway use. The Max Naturally Aspirated variants, meanwhile, are positioned for customers who want higher comfort and convenience features with a naturally aspirated petrol powertrain.

Citroën has also announced a step-up finance scheme with a maximum loan tenure of up to seven years. Under the scheme, EMI for the BasaltX range starts at ₹9,999, while the AircrossX range starts at ₹10,555 for the first year of the loan tenure.

The company said the scheme is designed to reduce EMI outflow during the first four years compared with a regular loan EMI, making the new models more accessible during the festive buying period.

Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said, “At Citroën, we continuously listen to our customers and evolve our products to better match their lifestyles and mobility needs. With the introduction of the new AircrossX and BasaltX editions, along with ë-C3X ENHANCED, we are expanding customer choice across performance, comfort, and electric mobility.”

“As we enter the festive season, customers across India look forward to celebrating new beginnings with their families. Our expanded portfolio gives customers more choice than ever before, whether they are looking for a spacious family SUV, a premium comfort-oriented vehicle, engaging turbo performance, or greater confidence in an electric vehicle. These updates reinforce our commitment to delivering accessible, practical, and customer-centric mobility solutions for Indian consumers with retail financing schemes.”

The electric highlight of the update is the ë-C3X Extended, which now offers a 330 km MIDC-I/II certified range. Citroën said the increased range has been achieved through improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and energy usage.

The ë-C3X Extended is being offered with Battery-as-a-Service pricing, starting at ₹6.99 lakh, along with a battery EMI of ₹2.26 per km. For EV buyers, particularly those who still measure range anxiety in coffee breaks and charging stops, the update is intended to improve everyday confidence.

The introductory ex-showroom prices are ₹10.69 lakh for the AircrossX You Turbo Comfort Edition, ₹11.62 lakh for the AircrossX Max NA, ₹9.99 lakh for the BasaltX You Turbo and ₹11.34 lakh for the BasaltX Max NA. The ë-C3X Extended BaaS price starts at ₹6.99 lakh, plus battery EMI of ₹2.26 per km.

Citroën said all naturally aspirated variants will be available in petrol and CNG. The company added that the EMI amounts of ₹9,999 for BasaltX and ₹10,555 for AircrossX apply only for the first year of the step-up finance scheme, considering approximately 20 percent down payment. The scheme is available through a select banking partner and is subject to the customer meeting the bank’s credit norms and applicable terms and conditions.

With the new AircrossX, BasaltX and ë-C3X Extended, Citroën is attempting to broaden its appeal in a market where customers increasingly expect choice across price, powertrain, features and running costs. The festive-season timing gives the company a wider showroom story, but the larger test will be whether these additions can convert expanded choice into sustained buyer interest.
