Patna: VinFast Auto India has opened its first 3S dealership in Bihar, taking the electric vehicle manufacturer’s retail network in India to 60 outlets as it pushes deeper into tier 2 and tier 3 markets.
The new dealership in Patna has been established by Patliputra Motors Private Limited under the leadership of Harsh Raj. Located on NH-30, Bypass Road, Paijawa, the facility combines sales, service and customer support operations under one roof.
Spread across 11,500 sq. ft., the outlet includes a 3,000 sq. ft. showroom displaying VinFast’s electric vehicle range. Dedicated sales and service teams will handle vehicle purchases, maintenance and after-sales requirements.
The Patna opening also marks VinFast’s entry into Bihar and comes about a year after the company opened its first showroom in India. With its 60th outlet now operational, VinFast is moving towards its stated target of establishing 75 dealerships across more than 60 cities by the end of 2026.
The expansion reflects the company’s effort to build a presence beyond India’s largest metropolitan markets. Patna, one of the principal commercial and administrative centres of eastern India, gives the EV maker access to a growing regional market where electric vehicle manufacturers are increasingly looking beyond the usual big-city battlegrounds.
At the inauguration, Tapan Ghosh, CEO of VinFast India, said: “We are delighted to mark the milestone of 60 dealerships in India while establishing VinFast’s presence in Bihar for the first time. This marks an important step in our growth journey and opens up new opportunities in a promising market in eastern India. VinFast remains committed to building a strong retail and after-sales network and accelerating the adoption of green mobility across the country.”
VinFast has been expanding its wider electric vehicle ecosystem in India alongside its dealership network, with efforts spanning local manufacturing, charging infrastructure, strategic partnerships and battery-related initiatives.
The company’s current portfolio includes the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs, both of which have received five-star Bharat NCAP safety ratings. VinFast offers roadside assistance, three years of complimentary maintenance and warranty coverage of up to 10 years or 200,000 km, depending on the model.
Its lineup also includes the VF MPV 7, an all-electric seven-seater with an ARAI-certified driving range of 517 km. According to the company, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 30 minutes using fast charging.
VinFast additionally offers a Value Assured Programme providing predefined buyback values after a specified ownership period. Customers are also being offered complimentary charging across the V-Green network until March 31, 2029.
The company is targeting owners of conventional petrol and diesel vehicles through its “Trade Gas for Electric” programme, which is intended to encourage customers to switch from internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs.
Reaching 60 dealerships within roughly a year of opening its first Indian showroom gives VinFast a considerably broader physical footprint as competition in India’s electric passenger vehicle market intensifies. The next test will be less about pins on a dealership map and more about converting that rapid expansion into sustained sales, dependable after-sales support and customer confidence — areas that ultimately determine whether an EV brand becomes a long-term fixture rather than simply a fast-growing newcomer.
