Gurugram: JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the highly anticipated MG Majestor, positioning it as India’s first D+ segment SUV and a new flagship in the company’s portfolio. With prices starting at ₹40.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 4×2 Automatic Top Trim and going up to ₹44.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully-loaded 4×4 Automatic variant, the Majestor enters the premium SUV battlefield armed with impressive dimensions, serious off-road hardware, and a long list of luxury features.
In a segment where bigger often means better, the MG Majestor seems to have taken the philosophy rather seriously. Measuring 5,046 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height, it claims the title of the longest, widest, and tallest SUV in its class. Add a massive 2,950 mm wheelbase, and the result is a road presence that could make smaller SUVs feel like they’ve accidentally wandered into the wrong parking lot.
Powering the Majestor is a twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful diesel SUVs in the segment. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, available in both 2WD and advanced 4WD configurations.
MG is also aiming squarely at adventure seekers. The Majestor becomes the first SUV in its segment to offer front, rear and centre differential locks, a feature typically found in dedicated off-road machines. The advanced 4WD system offers 10 terrain modes, while Crawl Control Mode, 219 mm ground clearance, and an 810 mm water-wading capability further strengthen its credentials for tackling challenging terrain.
Commenting on the launch, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said that the Majestor has been developed to offer a unique combination of performance, premium comfort, advanced technology and rugged capability, creating a differentiated value proposition in India’s growing premium SUV market.
The exterior design features a bold Mosaic Matrix Grille, distinctive Dragon Eyes DRLs, tri-beam LED headlamps, connected LED tail lamps, a raised bonnet, and large 19-inch alloy wheels. The overall styling gives the SUV a commanding and upscale appearance.
Inside, the Majestor focuses heavily on comfort and technology. Buyers can choose between 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, while the cabin features premium leather upholstery, ventilated and massaging front seats, a 12-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-way powered passenger seat, and a panoramic sunroof.
Technology highlights include dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12 JBL surround-sound speakers, dual wireless smartphone chargers, a 220V power outlet, and more than 75 connected-car functions through MG’s iSMART platform. The SUV also offers 64-colour ambient lighting and a three-zone climate control system, underlining its luxury ambitions.
On the safety front, the Majestor comes equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), making it the first D+ segment SUV in India to offer the technology. Additional safety features include a 360-degree HD camera, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS, EBD, Traction Control System (TCS), Roll Movement Intervention (RMI), electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, and a column-mounted gear selector.
The MG Majestor will be available in four exterior colours — Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Metal Black, and Metal Ash.
To enhance ownership experience, MG is offering its MG Shield ownership package that includes a 3-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, 3 years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free services. Customers can also opt for extended warranty and maintenance packages. Adding further value, MG’s assured buyback program promises up to 70% buyback value, a reassuring proposition in the premium SUV space.
Bookings for the MG Majestor have now commenced across authorised MG dealerships and through the company’s online channels.
With its blend of imposing dimensions, luxury-focused cabin, advanced safety technologies and genuine off-road capability, the MG Majestor is aiming to carve out a unique niche in India’s premium SUV market. Whether buyers plan to conquer mountain trails or simply dominate the office parking lot, the Majestor appears determined to live up to its name.
