MINI Parks Its Go-Kart Charm in Surat as BMW Group Expands Gujarat Footprint

Surat’s luxury car scene just got a little more “mini” — and that’s actually a big deal. BMW Group India has officially appointed Eminent Cars as the new dealer partner for MINI in Surat, Gujarat, bringing the iconic British-born premium hatchback brand closer to one of India’s fastest-growing luxury markets.

The move strengthens MINI’s presence in West India and signals BMW Group India’s continued push to make premium mobility more accessible in emerging luxury hubs. And honestly, in a city known for diamonds, designer lifestyles and fast-growing aspirations, MINI’s quirky personality feels right at home.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, said the launch of MINI in Surat marks an important milestone for the company’s expansion strategy in entrepreneurial and rapidly evolving markets. According to him, Gujarat’s growing appetite for premium lifestyle brands and unique experiences makes it a natural fit for MINI’s unconventional character and urban mobility appeal.

Brar added that together with Eminent Cars, BMW Group India is creating an integrated Retail.NEXT destination that combines immersive design, digital innovation and highly personalised customer engagement under one roof. In simpler words, it’s not just a car showroom anymore — it’s becoming a luxury lounge where your coffee might arrive before your financing options.

The new Retail.Next dealership on Dumas Road in Surat spans 7,500 sq ft and showcases both BMW and MINI models together. The ultra-modern facility can display up to seven vehicles and has been designed to deliver a highly interactive retail experience. Customers can explore vehicles in a living-room-inspired environment with cozy seating areas placed close to the cars, making the experience feel less “dealership pressure” and more “premium lifestyle hangout.”

Ankur Jain, Dealer Principal of Eminent Cars, said Surat has emerged as one of Gujarat’s most progressive luxury markets with customers who appreciate innovation, style and individuality. He noted that MINI’s iconic design language, fun-to-drive nature and expressive personality perfectly match the city’s energetic spirit.

Beyond the showroom glamour, the service infrastructure is equally serious. The dealership’s workshop stretches across 13,100 sq ft and includes 10 mechanical bays along with seven body and paint bays to ensure comprehensive aftersales support. BMW Group India says the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to maintain high standards across sales, service and business operations.

The Retail.NEXT concept also introduces several modern customer-focused features. BMW Geniuses armed with digital sales tools will assist customers with detailed product consultations, while dedicated Sales Consultancy Lounges offer private spaces for discussions related to financing and leasing. The Multifunctional Handover Bay adds a premium touch to vehicle deliveries and test drives, ensuring customers remember the experience long after the new-car smell fades.

The showroom also features a lifestyle and accessories zone showcasing the latest BMW and MINI merchandise, because apparently owning the car is only the beginning of the brand relationship.

In line with BMW Group’s growing electrification push, the dealership is also equipped with EV charging infrastructure for Battery Electric Vehicle users. The Retail.Next format further integrates lighting, sound, temperature and décor to create a more immersive luxury experience — proving that even the showroom now comes with its own “drive mode.”

With Surat joining MINI’s India network, the brand is clearly betting that Indian luxury buyers increasingly want something more expressive, youthful and fun than the traditional executive sedan. And if the city’s vibrant energy is any indication, MINI may just find plenty of people ready to swap predictable luxury for something with a little more personality — and a lot more cheekiness.
