Kia India’s April Hits a New High: 27,286 Units Sold, Seltos Leads the Charge with a Confident Smile

New Delhi: If April had a report card, Kia India would be proudly circling “Excellent” in bold. The mass-premium automaker has clocked its highest-ever April wholesale figures since entering the Indian market, dispatching 27,286 units — a healthy 16% year-on-year growth compared to 23,623 units in April 2025.

The numbers reflect more than just sales—they underline a growing consumer appetite for feature-packed, tech-savvy vehicles that don’t just move people, but impress them while doing so.

Growth That’s Not Just a One-Month Wonder

Kia’s performance isn’t limited to April fireworks. On a year-to-date basis, the company recorded 111,611 units, marking a solid 13% growth over last year’s 99,199 units. Clearly, this isn’t a lucky streak—it’s a well-engineered run.

Behind this momentum is a shift in customer preferences towards safer, connected, and more premium mobility solutions. In simpler terms, Indian buyers now want their cars to feel like smartphones on wheels—and Kia seems happy to oblige.

Seltos Stays the Star Performer

Leading the charge is the ever-popular Kia Seltos, which continues to anchor Kia’s volumes. With its bold design, tech-loaded cabin, and a benchmark 5-star BNCAP safety rating, the Seltos isn’t just selling—it’s setting standards.

Joining the party is the Kia Sonet, which, along with the Seltos, crossed the 10,000-unit mark in April. The Sonet’s wide range of automatic options—even below ₹10 lakh—has made it a crowd favourite in the compact SUV segment.

Meanwhile, the Kia Carens lineup continues to strengthen Kia’s family-focused portfolio. The addition of the Clavis (in both ICE and EV forms) with premium features like captain seats, panoramic sunroof, and GT-Line trims ensures that family cars don’t have to be boring anymore.

Beyond Sales: Building Ownership Confidence

Kia isn’t just selling cars—it’s building an ecosystem. The company has now expanded its service network to 500 workshops, aiming to reduce service turnaround time and improve accessibility.

Its footprint now spans 891 touchpoints across 396 cities, supported by 128 Certified Pre-Owned outlets. Translation: whether you’re buying new, upgrading, or just getting your car serviced, Kia wants to be just around the corner.

1.5 Million Milestone: Trust in Motion

In a relatively short span of seven years, Kia India has crossed the impressive milestone of 1.5 million domestic sales. The Seltos alone contributes over 41% of total sales, followed by the Sonet at 36% and the Carens at 20%.

At the premium end, the Kia Carnival continues to uphold Kia’s aspirational image—because sometimes, practicality deserves a touch of limousine-like flair.

Commenting on the performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, highlighted that the brand’s growth is driven by continuous product enhancements and expanding service accessibility.

Looking forward, Kia India seems firmly focused on staying relevant, progressive, and customer-centric. And if April is anything to go by, the company isn’t just driving growth—it’s cruising comfortably in the fast lane.

Because in today’s market, selling cars is one thing. Making customers come back for the next one? That’s the real milestone.
