Gurgaon — MINI India has launched the new MINI Convertible John Cooper Works (JCW) Pack, bringing a sharper, sportier twist to its iconic open-top hatchback. Priced at ₹61.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the model arrives in limited numbers as a completely built-up unit (CBU), with bookings now open and deliveries already underway.
Positioned as the more expressive sibling in the MINI Convertible lineup, the JCW Pack blends the brand’s trademark “go-kart” driving feel with a more aggressive visual attitude. In simpler terms, it’s the kind of car that looks fast even when parked—though, given Indian traffic, that might be its most frequent state.
According to Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, the new edition is aimed at buyers seeking individuality without compromising on the signature MINI driving charm. The JCW Pack enhances the Convertible’s personality with bolder styling cues while retaining its core identity of open-air freedom.
Visually, the car stays true to MINI’s classic DNA with round LED headlights, a redesigned grille, and compact proportions. The JCW treatment adds sportier bumpers, side skirts, and distinctive trim elements, while 17-inch Sprint Spoke black alloys complete the athletic stance. Available in shades like Legend Grey and Midnight Black, the car leans heavily into a stealthy, performance-inspired aesthetic.
The electrically operated soft top remains one of its party tricks, opening in just 18 seconds—even at speeds of up to 30 km/h. It can also function as a sunroof, because sometimes you want just a hint of sunshine rather than the full Indian summer experience. Boot space stands at 160 litres with the roof down, expanding to 215 litres when closed—enough for weekend bags, but perhaps not for overenthusiastic shopping sprees.
Inside, the cabin carries forward MINI’s minimalist yet playful design language. A round OLED display—dubbed the MINI Interaction Unit—takes centre stage, doubling as both instrument cluster and infotainment hub. Powered by MINI Operating System 9, it supports voice commands via the “Hey MINI” assistant, along with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The JCW steering wheel, sports seats, and recycled-material upholstery further underline the car’s sporty and sustainable ambitions.
Under the hood, the MINI Convertible JCW Pack is powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 240 km/h. In other words, it’s quick enough to outrun most city traffic—if only the traffic cooperates.
The model also comes equipped with features like head-up display, MINI Experience Modes (including the spirited Go-Kart Mode), digital key functionality, and advanced driver assistance systems such as cruise control and parking assist.
Safety remains comprehensive, with multiple airbags, rollover protection, dynamic stability control, and braking aids forming part of the standard package. Ownership benefits include a two-year unlimited kilometre warranty and roadside assistance, along with flexible service and finance plans through BMW India Financial Services.
With its limited availability and distinctive styling, the MINI Convertible JCW Pack is clearly not chasing volume. Instead, it caters to a niche audience—those who believe driving should be as much about emotion as it is about mobility. And if that emotion occasionally includes wind in your hair and a soundtrack of turbocharged enthusiasm, MINI seems more than happy to oblige.
