Pune:
Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has officially begun bookings for its much-anticipated all-new electric Mercedes-Benz CLA BEV in India, and in typical German fashion, it’s not just launching a car—it’s launching options. Responding to customer feedback, the company has confirmed the addition of a new variant, the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’, alongside the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’, giving Indian luxury EV buyers two ways to travel silently—and stylishly—into the electric future.
The newly introduced CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ arrives with a claimed 542 km driving range, while the higher-spec CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ stretches that figure to an impressive 792 km, ensuring that range anxiety is reduced to something closer to “range curiosity.”
Mercedes-Benz says the introduction of the Standard Range variant comes after strong interest from potential buyers who wanted a slightly more accessible entry point into the new CLA electric lineup.

Pricing and Bookings
Bookings for the all-new CLA BEV are now open across India with a booking amount of ₹1.5 lakh. The CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ will carry a tentative ex-showroom price of ₹55 lakh, while the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ is expected to be priced around ₹59 lakh. Final prices will be confirmed at launch, expected in mid-April 2026, and may vary depending on forex fluctuations.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin soon after launch, with the CLA 250+ Long Range arriving first by the end of April 2026, followed by the CLA 200 Standard Range from June 2026.
As an added incentive, customers who pre-book the car will receive a complimentary Mercedes-Benz wall box charger, which typically costs around ₹50,000 including installation.
Charging That’s Faster Than Your Coffee Break
The CLA BEV is built on an advanced 800-volt architecture, enabling extremely fast charging speeds. Using a 240 kW DC fast charger, the CLA 250+ Long Range can gain about 400 km of range in just 20 minutes, while the CLA 200 Standard Range can add around 320 km in the same time.
In other words, by the time you finish your coffee and check your messages, the car is ready for another long drive.
For everyday charging, customers can also opt for a 22 kW Mercedes-Benz home wall box, integrated with the Mercedes me smartphone app for convenient monitoring and control.
Smart Navigation for Long Drives
To make long journeys easier, the CLA BEV comes equipped with MBUX Intelligent Navigation, powered by a virtual assistant that automatically plans charging stops along the route.
The system even guides drivers to the most suitable charging points, ensuring that road trips remain smooth—even if the conversation in the car doesn’t.
Mercedes-Benz India customers will also benefit from the MB.Charge Public ecosystem, which already connects over 9,000 charging points across the country, further strengthening the brand’s EV infrastructure.
Same Luxury, Different Range
Despite the difference in range, Mercedes-Benz has kept the equipment level largely identical between the two variants, reinforcing its philosophy of offering high product substance as standard.
The CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ will feature Progressive Line styling, with comfort seats, a multifunction sports leather steering wheel, and two interior trim options. The CLA 250+ will come with a sportier AMG Line design treatment.
Electric Luxury Gets Practical
With the all-new CLA BEV, Mercedes-Benz is clearly aiming to blend luxury, technology and long electric range into a compact luxury sedan package.
And with up to 792 km of range, the CLA 250+ might just be one of the few electric cars in India capable of completing long inter-city drives without frequent charging stops—something many EV owners still dream about.
For Indian luxury EV buyers, the message from Mercedes-Benz is simple: the electric future is arriving fast, charging even faster—and now comes with two choices of range.
