New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has reported total sales of 7,212 units in February 2026, comprising 5,629 units in domestic sales and 1,583 units in exports.
In comparison, the company had recorded 5,616 domestic units and 4,707 export units in February 2025 — indicating a shift in the sales mix this year, with stronger traction in the home market.
Amaze Leads the Charge, City & Elevate Stay Steady
According to Kunal Behl, Vice President – Marketing & Sales, HCIL, the momentum through February was largely powered by the continued popularity of the Honda Amaze, positioned as a practical sedan offering segment-leading safety credentials.
Meanwhile, the ever-reliable Honda City and the brand’s mid-size SUV contender Honda Elevate maintained steady volumes, aided by attractive promotional schemes during the month.
And let’s be honest — in a market obsessed with SUVs, keeping the sedan conversation alive is no small feat. The Amaze and City seem to be politely reminding buyers that boot space and balanced ride quality never really go out of fashion.
Domestic Focus Gains Strength
While exports saw a notable correction compared to February last year, domestic sales edged up marginally year-on-year. Industry observers note that shifting global demand patterns and production realignments may have influenced export numbers, even as the Indian market continues to show resilient demand heading into the fiscal year-end.
With March traditionally being a high-activity month for automakers due to year-end buying, Honda remains optimistic about closing FY2025-26 on a positive note.
The Road Ahead
As competition intensifies across compact sedans and SUVs, Honda’s strategy appears clear — lean on proven nameplates, highlight safety and practicality, and offer value-driven promotions at the right time.
Because sometimes in the fast-moving auto world, consistency is the real horsepower.
For Honda, February wasn’t about fireworks — it was about steady throttle, clean lines, and keeping the showroom doors swinging.
