Toyota Hilux Leads 4,400 km ‘Bharat Rannbhoomi Darshan’ Expedition, Concludes at National War Memorial

New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in collaboration with the Indian Armed Forces, successfully concluded the nationwide Bharat Rannbhoomi Darshan expedition in the national capital, marking a stirring tribute to India’s military heritage, valor and unity.

The closing ceremony was held at the iconic National War Memorial and was graced by Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, alongside senior officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Border Security Force (BSF), members of the civil administration and the leadership team of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

A 4,400 km Tribute on Wheels

What began on 3 February from Dwarka, Gujarat, turned into a 23-day journey of remembrance and resilience. Covering over 4,400 kilometres across 14 cities and 4 states, the expedition traversed strategically and historically significant regions, uniting a 32-member contingent of serving personnel from the Army, Navy, BSF and war veterans.

At the heart of the convoy was the formidable Toyota Hilux — 15 units of it, to be precise — leading the expedition across deserts, rugged trails and demanding routes. If ever there was a real-world test for endurance and reliability, this was it.

And let’s just say, the Hilux didn’t ask for a break.

Mobility Partner with a Mission

As the official mobility partner, TKM ensured seamless logistics and on-ground support, providing:

  • A fleet of 15 Toyota Hilux 4×4 vehicles
  • Continuous technical assistance
  • Spare parts and service backup throughout the route
  • End-to-end operational coordination

The Hilux’s advanced 4×4 system proved instrumental across varied terrains — from desert sands to off-road stretches — delivering consistent performance and ensuring the expedition maintained its momentum.

Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President – Corporate Affairs and Governance, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, remarked:

“The successful completion of Bharat Rannbhoomi Darshan stands as a tribute to the indomitable spirit of our Armed Forces. It has been a matter of immense pride for Toyota Kirloskar Motor to collaborate with this prestigious initiative. Our Hilux vehicles demonstrated exceptional all-terrain capability, ensuring uninterrupted progress across challenging landscapes while enabling meaningful community engagement.”

Desert Drive in the Golden City

As part of the initiative, TKM curated a special Toyota Hilux Experiential Drive in Jaisalmer — the Golden City. Participants experienced the pickup’s raw capability across sand dunes, offering a first-hand taste of what serious 4×4 engineering feels like when the terrain refuses to cooperate.

Spoiler alert: the dunes cooperated eventually.

A Journey of National Gratitude

Beyond mobility and machines, the expedition fostered public engagement across regions, encouraging awareness of India’s military history and strengthening collective patriotism. Community interactions, storytelling sessions and ceremonial stops amplified the expedition’s deeper purpose — remembrance and gratitude.

The grand culmination at the National War Memorial symbolized not just the end of a journey, but a powerful reaffirmation of unity, sacrifice and national pride.

Because sometimes, a convoy is more than just vehicles on a highway — it’s history, honor and humanity moving together.
