19 tournaments | 13 cities | One grand celebration of fairways, finesse and fine living
Gurugram: BMW Group India has officially announced the return of the BMW Golf Cup for 2026—and this time, it’s swinging bigger, wider and longer than ever before. Now in its 16th edition, the country’s premier amateur golf tournament will span 19 qualifying rounds across 13 cities, engaging over 2,200 golfers who believe that weekends are best spent chasing birdies, not emails.
Reinforcing BMW’s long-standing love affair with world-class sport and premium experiences, the BMW Golf Cup 2026 blends competitive spirit with signature luxury—where handicaps matter, etiquette rules, and the clubhouse conversations are as important as the scorecards.
Announcing the season, Hardeep Singh Brar, President & CEO, BMW Group India, said the tournament goes beyond trophies and tees. “The BMW Golf Cup is more than a tournament—it’s an expression of our commitment to sporting excellence, community and memorable experiences. In 2026, we are widening the footprint, deepening grassroots engagement and elevating the experience for players and guests alike,” he noted, adding that BMW looks forward to welcoming a new generation of golfers to compete, connect and celebrate the unifying spirit of the sport—preferably without slicing into the rough.
From Tee Boxes to Top Cities
The BMW Golf Cup 2026 will be hosted at some of India’s most spectacular golf courses across Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Vadodara, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata and Gurugram—essentially turning the country into one long, well-manicured fairway.
Adding extra shine to the season are prestigious brand partnerships with Omega, Etihad, TaylorMade, Ballantine’s and HSBC—ensuring that precision, performance and premium hospitality extend well beyond the greens.
A Global Legacy, One Swing at a Time
Globally, the BMW Golf Cup is one of the world’s largest amateur golf tournament series. What began over 25 years ago as a British-based initiative—then called the BMW Invitation Tournament—has evolved into a truly international spectacle. Today, it features over 1,000 qualifying tournaments, 100,000 players, and participation from up to 40 countries. The journey culminates at the prestigious BMW Golf Cup World Final, where national champions compete for individual titles across three categories.
Who Qualifies?
The BMW Golf Cup 2026 features two competitive categories:
- Category A: Handicaps up to 12
- Category B: Handicaps from 13 to 28
Winners from each category advance to the National Final, and the top performers there earn the ultimate reward—a coveted spot at the BMW Golf Cup World Final, where golfing dreams meet global fairways.
In short, BMW Golf Cup 2026 promises not just great golf, but great stories—where every drive counts, every putt matters, and even a bad shot is forgiven if followed by a good conversation at the 19th hole.
