MG Motor India Clocks 19% Growth in 2025, Crosses 1 Lakh EV Sales as Windsor Stays India’s No.1 Electric Car

Gurugram:
If 2025 were a road trip, JSW MG Motor India clearly chose the fast lane—with cruise control firmly set. The carmaker wrapped up the calendar year with a healthy 19% year-on-year growth, clocking 70,554 units sold between January and December 2025, compared to CY 2024.

December stayed busy too, with 6,500 wholesale units dispatched, signalling sustained demand across MG’s ICE and EV portfolios. In short: fewer pit stops, more green lights.

EVs Lead the Charge

As the year drew to a close, JSW MG Motor India crossed a landmark that matters—over 100,000 EVs sold cumulatively in India. That milestone further cements MG’s position as a serious heavyweight in the country’s electric mobility ring. Adding to the momentum, the MG Windsor comfortably held on to its title as India’s best-selling electric car in 2025, proving that practicality and popularity can, in fact, charge together.

Luxury Goes Electric—and Fast

The brand’s premium ambitions also gathered speed. MG SELECT, MG’s luxury retail channel, recorded a 38% month-on-month wholesale growth, driven by strong consumer response to halo offerings like the M9 Presidential Limousine and the Cyberster, famously billed as the world’s fastest MG. Not bad for a channel that’s still in its first year.

In under 12 months, MG SELECT has already rolled out 15 Experience Centres across 14 major cities, and currently holds the second position in India’s luxury EV segment—a debut season many would happily frame.

Familiar Name, Fresh Push

The year also saw the launch of the All-New MG Hector at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹11.99 lakh, keeping MG’s mainstream portfolio refreshed and competitive. To sweeten long-term ownership, the company introduced an industry-first extended assured buy-back program for EVs, offering guaranteed resale value after 3, 4, or 5 years, depending on the plan chosen. Think of it as range anxiety—solved at resale time.

The Road Ahead

With strong EV leadership, a growing luxury footprint, and consumer-friendly ownership initiatives, JSW MG Motor India enters 2026 with confidence—and momentum. If 2025 was about acceleration, the coming year looks ready for sustained top speed, responsibly, of course.
