New Delhi: India’s highway travelers seem to have found their new favorite subscription — and it’s not for streaming. The FASTag Annual Pass, launched by NHAI on 15th August 2025, has already zoomed past 25 lakh users, clocking an impressive 5.67 crore transactions in just two months.
The initiative, designed to enhance the ‘Ease of Commuting’, lets National Highway users pay once and drive all year — quite literally the automotive equivalent of an unlimited buffet. For a one-time payment of ₹3,000, users get one full year (or 200 toll crossings) of seamless access across 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and Expressways.
And the best part? No more last-minute wallet panic at the toll booth. The annual pass activates within two hours on the user’s existing FASTag after payment through the Rajmargyatra App or NHAI website.
NHAI officials say the massive response reflects India’s growing appetite for smarter, simpler travel solutions — and possibly, a collective sigh of relief from millions tired of “low balance” notifications. The pass, though non-transferable, covers National Highways and Expressways, while payments at State Highway tolls and parking lots continue through the normal FASTag wallet balance.
With the FASTag Annual Pass becoming India’s newest road trip essential, it seems the only recharge drivers now need… is their playlist.
