KL Rahul Gets a Presidential Promotion — Takes Delivery of the MG M9 Limousine Fit for Cricket Royalty

Gurugram: Indian cricket’s calmest captain, KL Rahul, just added a new chapter to his style book — this time with the MG M9, lovingly dubbed The Presidential Limousine. The luxury electric MPV, known for its stately proportions and palace-on-wheels interiors, now has a new home in Rahul’s garage. And if match-day travel ever needed an upgrade, this is it.

With its Yacht-style dual sunroof, Presidential seats featuring 16-way adjustment, 8 massage modes, and even a 64-colour ambient lighting setup, the MG M9 promises Rahul the kind of comfort usually reserved for heads of state — or at least for someone who’s faced Jasprit Bumrah with a straight bat.

The M9’s interior oozes craftsmanship — from Cognac brown leather and suede upholstery to the Intelligent Arm Rest that controls everything short of a toss decision. A 13-speaker sound system, heated and ventilated seats, and a 1720-litre flexible storage area ensure that whether Rahul’s packing cricket kits or couture, space is never an issue.

On the outside, the M9 wears its elegance like Rahul’s cover drive — smooth, precise, and unshowy. The bold trapezoidal grille, split LED headlamps, and waterfall-style LED rear light announce presence without pretense. It glides on 19-inch ContiSeal™ self-sealing tyres, because even the idea of a flat tyre feels too middle-class for this presidential EV.

Under the hood (and in the frunk), lies the real statement: a 90-kWh battery powering a 245 PS motor with 350 Nm of torque — giving a healthy 548 km range and the ability to charge from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. That’s barely enough time to finish a protein shake and a few reels of Rahul’s batting highlights.

Safety isn’t overlooked either — the M9 boasts 7 airbags, ultra-high strength steel, 5-star Euro NCAP and ANCAP ratings, and Level 2 ADAS with driver monitoring. In short, even the car watches Rahul’s every move.

Available in Pearl Lustre White, Metal Black, and Concrete Grey, the M9 is being showcased across 14 Select Experience Centres in 13 cities. MG says it’s “crafted for iconic journeys,” though with Rahul behind the wheel, the only question is — will the limousine reach the nets before the press does?
