GST 2.0 Gives Hyundai’s SUVs a Turbo Boost — Creta Zooms to Record 18,861 Units, Venue Throws a 20-Month Party

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has kicked September into overdrive, recording its highest-ever SUV sales contribution in company history—a thumping 72.4% penetration of total domestic sales. And the star of this blockbuster performance? None other than the Creta, which smashed its own sales records with a dazzling 18,861 units sold in a single month. If SUVs had a red carpet event, this would be their “Oscars night.”

Backed by transformative GST 2.0 reforms, a festive season that could power an entire city’s lights, and customers in full celebratory gear, Hyundai’s domestic sales raced to 51,547 units, while exports leapt to 18,800 units—the highest monthly export tally in nearly three years. Altogether, HMIL clocked 70,347 units in total sales, a healthy 10% growth over September 2024.

📈 SUVs Take the Wheel

The SUV bandwagon didn’t just arrive—it rolled in like a parade. Creta led the convoy with its all-time high monthly performance, while the ever-reliable Venue clocked 11,484 units, its best in the last 20 months. This surge has firmly cemented Hyundai’s SUVs as the backbone of its Indian operations—if sales were a rock concert, Creta and Venue were the lead guitarists shredding solos.

Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director & Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, expressed gratitude to the government, saying:

“The transformative GST 2.0 reforms have given wings to millions of aspirations. We’re witnessing a rare alignment where domestic and export markets are growing in tandem—a true double-engine growth story.”

🌏 Make in India, Ship to the World

Hyundai’s export performance was equally headline-worthy. With a 44% YoY growth, exports touched 18,800 units, their highest since December 2022. In the first half of FY26 alone (Apr–Sep 2025), HMIL has shipped 99,540 units, up 17% YoY, strengthening its position as Hyundai Motor Company’s global manufacturing hub.

Or in simpler terms: “Made in India, admired globally.”

Between the GST relief, festive cheer, and a product line-up that’s clearly hitting the right notes, Hyundai’s September sales story reads like a well-choreographed musical—with the Creta belting out the high notes and Venue keeping the rhythm steady.

If this momentum continues into Dhanteras and Diwali, the SUV charts might just need a new “Top 10” board.
