Refreshed and Remarkable: Volvo XC60 Gets Smarter, Safer and More Scandinavian in Style at INR 71.90 lakh

New Delhi – Volvo Car India has unveiled the Refreshed XC60 Mild Hybrid, proving that even Scandinavians like to reinvent themselves every now and then. Priced at an introductory ₹71.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the Swedish best-seller has rolled into the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, looking sleeker, sounding smarter, and—thanks to its new infotainment system—probably knowing more about your Spotify taste than you’d like to admit.

The MY26 XC60 isn’t just about face-lifts and flashy wheels; it’s about taking Volvo’s safety-first philosophy and pairing it with a luxury lounge-on-wheels vibe. On the outside, a redesigned grille and darker taillights give it a meaner stance, while new 19-inch diamond-cut alloys and a brand-new “Forest Lake” paint shade make it look as though it just came back from a wellness retreat in Sweden’s pine woods.

Inside, however, is where the drama unfolds—if you can call soft blond interiors, premium Nappa leather, and wood inlays “drama.” A massive 11.2-inch infotainment screen, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, takes center stage, promising faster responses than your WhatsApp crush. Paired with a Bowers & Wilkins 1410W, 15-speaker audio system (yes, with an air-ventilated subwoofer), this cabin is basically a Scandinavian opera house on wheels.

Volvo hasn’t forgotten its DNA either: safety tech remains the star of the show. With features like City Safety, Pilot Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation Support, the XC60 is practically a co-pilot who refuses to let you make bad decisions. Add in a 360-degree camera, split-screen parking assistance, and Volvo’s Advanced Air Cleaner system (goodbye Delhi smog, hello Swedish Alps), and it’s clear this car takes “well-being” very seriously.

Under the hood, the XC60 B5 Mild Hybrid carries a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and AWD. The 48V mild-hybrid tech ensures better efficiency and smoother power delivery, while still leaving enough grunt for that occasional expressway ego duel with the Germans.

Speaking at the launch, Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India, said, “The XC60 has consistently been one of our most successful models globally, and in India, it has garnered immense customer appreciation. With the Refreshed XC60, we are elevating the user experience to the next level—combining intuitive technology, uncompromising safety, and refined luxury.”

With massage seats, wireless charging, and Google services with a 5-year subscription, the XC60 feels less like an SUV and more like a premium Scandinavian gadget on wheels. Only this gadget also has a panoramic sunroof and can tow a small mountain.

So, if you’re in the market for a luxury SUV that looks Nordic cool, thinks faster than your smartphone, and pampers like a five-star spa, the Refreshed Volvo XC60 is here to remind you: safety can be sexy too.
