Black is the New Brawn: Defender Octa Black Rocks the Road and the Stage with Oasis Live ’25

Gaydon, UK: If Darth Vader joined Oasis on tour, this is the SUV he’d drive.

Land Rover has unveiled the all-new Defender Octa Black, a brooding, brawny all-black masterpiece that combines tough luxury with rockstar swagger. With more black accents than a metal band’s wardrobe and performance credentials to match, it’s the latest evolution of Defender’s already formidable flagship—the Octa.

The Octa Black isn’t just a car. It’s a statement. A loud, gravelly, bass-thumping, mud-slinging, fashion-forward war cry on wheels. And yes, it’s also the official tour vehicle for the Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour. Because what better way to carry legendary rockers across 41 cities than in something that can scale Everest and still pull up to the red carpet?

WHAT’S NEW?

  • Black. Everywhere. 30 different components are now dipped in Gloss or Satin Black—from tow hooks to quad exhaust tips. Even the towbar cover gets the blackout memo.
  • Gloss Black 22-inch wheels, Shadow Atlas Defender scripts, and Narvik Black paint so dark it makes midnight jealous.
  • Interior? A VIP lounge. Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather + Kvadrat™ textile, with Carpathian Grey detailing and a dashboard that says, “I’m posh, but I’ll still climb that cliff.”

WHAT’S UNDER THE BONNET?

  • A 635PS 4.4L Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 with enough torque to move a mountain—or tow your private island.
  • 6D Dynamics suspension so smart it probably has a LinkedIn.
  • Octa Mode for when “off-road” really means “off the charts.”

And if that’s not wild enough, the Body and Soul Seats (BASS) literally vibrate to your music. Developed with SUBPAC™, this tech lets you feel every Oasis chorus in your spine—definitely maybe the coolest thing to hit car seats since seat warmers.

AND THERE’S MORE…

  • A new 13.1-inch touchscreen, smoked rear lights, and updated headlights because even a beast deserves a facelift.
  • Available in standard Octa colours too—like Sargasso Blue and Borasco Grey—if you don’t want to be mistaken for a black ops unit.

WHAT THE BRAND SAYS:

“There’s no denying the presence and purpose of Defender Octa… but Octa Black takes things up a notch. We’ve gone all-in on black—inside and out—to create the ultimate tough luxury Defender,” says Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Defender.

The Defender Octa Black is where apocalypse-ready hardware meets private jet-level plush. It’s a blacked-out beast, a luxury hammer, a tour bus for the wild at heart. Whether you’re storming a trail, a music venue, or a valet line, Octa Black ensures you arrive like a legend.
