New Delhi, India: In a bold move to reshape India’s electric SUV landscape, BYD India has officially announced the pricing for its much-anticipated BYD Sealion 7 Pure Performance eSUV. Starting at ₹48.9 lakh (pan India), the vehicle has already captivated the market, securing over 1000 bookings within just a month of its unveiling at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 18, 2025.
The Sealion 7 marks BYD India’s fifth all-new vehicle offering, strengthening the brand’s foothold in the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) sector. Available in Performance and Premium variants, the eSUV provides customers with the option of all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD). Post the promotional offer ending today, the booking amount will be revised to ₹70,000, with deliveries slated to begin in mid-March 2025.
The BYD Sealion 7 is powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack and boasts cutting-edge technologies such as BYD’s Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) and Cell to Body (CTB) technology. This innovative chassis design integrates BYD’s Blade Battery, enhancing safety, performance, and cabin space while extending range capabilities.
Performance enthusiasts will be thrilled with the Sealion 7’s acceleration prowess: the Performance variant sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while the Premium variant achieves the same in 6.7 seconds. Range figures under the NEDC test cycle are equally impressive, with the Performance trim offering 542 km and the Premium variant reaching 567 km on a single charge.

Designed under the guidance of Wolfgang Egger, BYD’s Global Design Director, the Sealion 7 showcases a sleek aerodynamic profile with distinctive ‘OCEAN X’ front styling. The interior exudes luxury, featuring a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, quilted Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof, and 128-color ambient lighting. Additional amenities include a heads-up display, a 12-speaker Dynaudio system, ventilated and heated seats, a 50W wireless phone charger, and an intelligent tailgate.
Safety is paramount, with the Sealion 7 offering 11 airbags as standard, Driver Fatigue Monitoring, and Vehicle-to-Load (VTOL) capabilities, enabling the SUV to function as a portable power station. The vehicle also comes with a complimentary 7kW home charger, 6-year roadside assistance, and extensive battery warranties – 8 years for the Blade Battery and 6 years/150,000 km for the Low Voltage Battery.
