Minda Corporation Teams Up with Sanco to Power India’s EV Future with Cutting-Edge Electrical Distribution Systems

Delhi/NCR, Sep 04, 2024 — Minda Corporation Limited, a key player in the automotive components industry, has taken a major leap in the electric vehicle (EV) market by signing a technology licensing agreement with China’s Sanco Connecting Technology, a renowned leader in EV connection systems. This strategic partnership marks a milestone in Minda Corp’s efforts to strengthen its product lineup and capabilities within the rapidly growing EV sector.

The collaboration will allow Minda Corp to locally develop and manufacture advanced electrical distribution systems (EDS) for electric vehicles, including charging gun assemblies, bus bars, power distribution units (PDUs), battery distribution units (BDUs), and other essential components. The move aligns with Minda Corp’s goal to drive innovation in EV solutions while boosting the company’s vertical integration within its Wiring Harness Division.

“This partnership with Sanco is a pivotal moment for us,” said Aakash Minda, Executive Director of Minda Corporation. “It enables us to deliver cutting-edge, customized EDS solutions to India’s expanding EV market. Together, we are committed to enhancing the value of EV components across different vehicle segments while focusing on sustainable and innovative mobility solutions. Localization will be a key focus, ensuring that we deliver greater value to our customers.”

The agreement not only strengthens Minda Corp’s position in the Indian EV supply chain ecosystem but also gives Sanco a strategic foothold in the growing Indian EV market. “This collaboration with Minda Corp is a significant step for Sanco,” stated Zhijian Zeng, Chairman of Sanco Connecting Technology. “By combining our technological expertise with Minda’s strong relationships with global automakers and their local production capabilities, we aim to provide world-class solutions to India’s original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).”

As the EV industry in India gears up for rapid expansion, this partnership is poised to drive innovation and set new benchmarks for local development and manufacturing of critical EV components, further solidifying Minda Corp’s leadership in the field.
