Mumbai, September 02, 2024: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), a prominent name in India’s automotive industry, has reported significant growth in its August 2024 sales, continuing its momentum in the SUV market. The company achieved a total vehicle sales volume of 76,755 units, which includes both domestic and export numbers.
In the highly competitive Utility Vehicles (SUV) segment, Mahindra sold 43,277 vehicles domestically, marking an impressive 16% year-on-year growth. Including exports, the overall SUV sales for the month reached 44,670 units. In addition, Mahindra’s Commercial Vehicles division saw steady demand, with 21,092 vehicles sold in India.
A key highlight of the month was the successful launch of Mahindra’s latest SUV, the Thar Roxx. Introduced during India’s Independence Day celebrations, the Thar Roxx aims to strengthen Mahindra’s position in the growing SUV market. The company is ambitiously targeting to make the Thar franchise the No. 1 SUV line-up in the segment above ₹12.5 lakh over the next three to five years.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed optimism about the company’s future prospects. He said, “August has been a remarkable month for Mahindra. With a 16% growth in SUV sales and the launch of the Thar Roxx, we are set to redefine the SUV experience for our customers.”
With Mahindra’s strong product portfolio and focus on innovation, the company continues to solidify its leadership in the utility vehicle space, setting the stage for future growth.
