Rimac Automobili has unveiled a new powerhouse in the Nevera family: the Nevera R, a hypercar designed to dominate the track with unmatched cornering performance. This latest addition is a bold evolution of the original Nevera, transforming it from a Hyper GT into a Hyper Sportscar that embodies Rimac’s core principles: Radical, Rebellious, and Relentless.
The Nevera R comes equipped with cutting-edge Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring and advanced braking systems, coupled with a performance-optimized battery that pushes an astonishing 2,107 hp. This reimagined beast not only shatters straight-line speed records—reaching 300 km/h (186 mph) in a mere 8.66 seconds—but also delivers unprecedented agility around corners, making it a true marvel of engineering.
Mate Rimac, the visionary Founder and CEO of Rimac Group, highlighted the evolution of the Nevera: “While the original Nevera struck a perfect balance as a Grand Tourer, combining record-breaking performance with comfort and long-distance drivability, our customers sought an even more focused driving experience. The Nevera R is our answer—a lighter, faster, and more agile version that emphasizes cornering prowess while retaining the DNA of its predecessor.”
Rimac’s engineers meticulously reworked the Nevera’s architecture to push it further into the realm of hyper sports cars. Enhanced driving dynamics, a more performance-oriented battery, increased power, and advanced braking capabilities are at the heart of the Nevera R’s design. The car’s sleek, aerodynamic profile is both a visual and functional statement, featuring 21-inch rear wheels, 20-inch front wheels, and a large fixed rear wing that, together with an aggressive aero package, increases downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%.
With new Michelin Cup 2 tires, the Nevera R reduces understeer by 10%, increases lateral grip by 5%, and shaves 3.8 seconds off its lap time at the Nardo Handling Track. The integration of negative camber and heightened grip levels, combined with added downforce, enables the Nevera R to push the boundaries of physics like never before.
Every detail of the Nevera R is crafted to enhance agility and handling, from the re-tuned R-AWTV system that optimizes the high-performance tires to the refined traction control and steering systems that provide sharper responses and more precise driver feedback. Powered by the next-generation 108kWh Rimac battery pack, the Nevera R offers more power and efficiency in a lighter configuration. Its 2,107 hp output makes it even quicker than the record-setting original Nevera.
