Gurugram | August 16, 2024: Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the charitable division of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has unveiled the ‘Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program,’ a major initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged students in their pursuit of higher education and career aspirations. The program, with a total investment of INR 3.38 crores, is designed to benefit 450 individuals, including 300 aspirants preparing for Civil Services and Common Law Admission Tests, as well as 150 teams of students from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) working on innovative projects.

The scholarship program was officially launched by Shri. H. D. Kumaraswamy, the Honourable Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Minister of Steel, Government of India, in a ceremony attended by key representatives from Hyundai Motor India, including Puneet Anand, Vertical Head – Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL, and Soon Sang Hong, Vertical Advisor – Corporate Communication and Social, HMIL.

The Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program aligns with Hyundai’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity,’ focusing on fostering future leaders by providing social, emotional, and financial support. This initiative aims to remove financial barriers for deserving students, enabling them to excel in their chosen fields and contribute to the nation’s growth.

Puneet Anand emphasized the program’s significance, stating, “Our goal is to create a level playing field for talented students from economically weaker sections, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their potential. By investing in these young minds, we are investing in the future of our nation.”

Shri. H. D. Kumaraswamy lauded the initiative, noting that it represents a critical step towards nation-building by supporting students who are often sidelined due to economic challenges. He highlighted that the scholarship program not only benefits individual students but also contributes to the broader development of society.

The Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program will be executed by BharatCares on behalf of HMIF, with the mission of transforming the dreams of aspiring students into reality, ultimately fostering a brighter future for India.
