Mumbai, July 4, 2024 – Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL), has launched a series of impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives across Maharashtra, focusing on the sectors of Art, Health, and Sanitation. These initiatives were inaugurated by Girish Mahajan, Minister of Rural Development & Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Maharashtra, at the Bombay Art Society in Mumbai.
Diverse Initiatives Across Key Sectors
Art for Hope – Season 3:
The flagship ‘Art for Hope’ initiative, now in its third season, celebrates the creativity of differently-abled artists. A two-day cultural event showcased the work of 10 grantees from various parts of India. These artists received financial grants for virtual upskilling in soft skills, art management, and personal branding. The initiative aims to empower artists with sustainable and inclusive income opportunities, aligning with Hyundai’s broader vision of ‘Progress for Humanity.’
Sparsh Sanjeevani Program:
Five telemedicine clinics were inaugurated in Talegaon, and two mobile medical vans were introduced to serve the districts of Nagpur and Aurangabad. These facilities aim to enhance healthcare accessibility in underserved regions. The telemedicine clinics provide remote medical consultations, while the mobile medical vans offer essential diagnostic and treatment services, significantly benefiting rural populations.
Project H₂OPE:
Under the ‘H₂OPE’ project, 100 water RO systems were installed across schools in Gadhchiroli, ensuring clean drinking water for over 35,000 students. This initiative promotes better health and hygiene, contributing to a more conducive learning environment for children in this forest district of Maharashtra.
Commitment to Community Development
Girish Mahajan praised HMIF’s efforts, stating, “I commend HMIF for their commitment to improving the lives of our citizens through these valuable CSR initiatives. The telemedicine clinics, mobile medical vans, and water RO systems will greatly enhance accessibility to proper healthcare and sanitation across Maharashtra. We laud such collaborative efforts, which are indeed essential to achieve the sustainable development goals.”
Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., echoed this sentiment, saying, “At Hyundai, we believe in Creating Shared Value and driving positive change in the communities we serve. Our latest CSR initiatives in Maharashtra underscore HMIF’s commitment to inclusive growth and community development. We are dedicated to supporting the differently-abled, enhancing healthcare access, and improving the overall well-being of society.”
Through these initiatives, HMIF continues to build on its legacy of social responsibility and community development, contributing meaningfully to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Hyundai Motor Company’s global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity.’
