Gulfstream’s Flagship Jets Achieve Milestone, Highlighting Unmatched Performance and Global Demand
SAVANNAH, Ga., June 13, 2024 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. proudly announced a significant milestone in the aviation industry: the Gulfstream G500 and G600 have each surpassed 100,000 flight hours. This achievement underscores the exceptional performance, reliability, and global demand for these cutting-edge aircraft.
The Gulfstream G500 and G600, renowned for their advanced engineering and innovative technology, are powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada engines. Both models feature the award-winning Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck, which is equipped with state-of-the-art safety-enhancing technology, including the industry’s first active control sidesticks and the most extensive use of touch-screen technology. The integration of Phase-of-Flight intelligence further elevates operational safety and efficiency.
Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, commented on this remarkable accomplishment, saying, “Our award-winning G500 and G600 continue to demonstrate impressive performance. This achievement is a result of the strong demand and high flight activity we’re seeing from customers around the world. Surpassing 100,000 flight hours further reiterates the durability and dependability of the G500 and G600.”
These aircraft are not only technologically advanced but also set new standards for cabin comfort. Both the G500 and G600 offer industry-leading interior designs, featuring award-winning seating that enhances passenger comfort on long-haul flights.
The G500 boasts a range of 5,300 nautical miles (9,816 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 and 4,500 nautical miles (8,334 kilometers) at Mach 0.90. The G600, with an even more impressive range, can fly 6,600 nautical miles (12,223 kilometers) at Mach 0.85 and 5,600 nautical miles (10,371 kilometers) at Mach 0.90. Both models have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925, making them some of the fastest jets in their class.
In addition to their range and speed, both the G500 and G600 have recently achieved U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for steep-approach operations. This certification, obtained by the G600 in May and the G500 earlier in the year, allows these aircraft to access some of the world’s most challenging airports, providing operators with greater convenience and operational flexibility.
With over 260 aircraft in service worldwide, the G500 and G600 fleet continues to set records and break new ground in the aviation industry. Together, they hold more than 90 city-pair speed records, demonstrating their superior performance and capability.
The milestone of surpassing 100,000 flight hours is a testament to Gulfstream’s commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. As these aircraft continue to soar to new heights, they solidify Gulfstream’s position as a leader in the world of business aviation.
