Fiat Unveils New 500e Model: Inspired by Los Angeles

Auburn Hills, Mich., June 6, 2024 – Fiat has announced the latest addition to its all-electric 500e lineup: the Fiat 500e Inspired By Los Angeles. This new model features an exclusive Marine Layer Mist exterior color, reflecting the coastal marine layer that graces LA beaches in spring and summer. This vehicle is a fusion of Italian style and Angeleno culture, characterized by its fashion-forward design and inspiration from the beautiful ocean coastlines.

“Los Angeles’s unique blend of ‘La Dolce Vita’ beach lifestyle, iconic car culture, and high adoption of BEVs makes it the perfect inspiration for our next 500e release,” said Aamir Ahmed, head of FIAT North America. “The new Fiat 500e Inspired By Los Angeles encapsulates both Italian heritage, with its classic cinquecento design and Turin origin, and Angeleno culture, showcased in its Marine Layer Mist color and urban mission.”

Design and Features
The Inspired By Los Angeles model is the only 500e variant to sport the cool, mystic shade of Marine Layer Mist. This color is named after the Southern California coastal marine layer, a natural phenomenon that gives LA its magical and complex atmosphere. The exterior design includes matte gray mirror caps and black daylight opening (DLO) molding, while the interior features beige eco-leather seats, a soft-touch steering wheel, and a body-color instrument panel.

A standout feature is the JBL seven-speaker amplified audio system with a subwoofer, featuring four Virtual Venues selected by Italian Maestro Andrea Bocelli. These venues change the cabin’s acoustic characteristics, offering passengers unique listening environments.

The Fiat 500e Inspired By Los Angeles comes with standard Level 2 active driving assist, combining adaptive cruise control and Lane Keep Assist to aid the driver on select roads. It is the only all-electric car in its segment offering Level 2, hands-on driver assist technology.

Performance and Charging
The 500e is the lightest passenger BEV in the market, with an estimated range of 149 miles (240 kilometers) enabled by a 42-KWh battery. It has a Level 2 (11 kW) charge time of six hours. With 117 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque, the 500e reaches 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds, providing excellent performance while managing range.

Every Fiat 500e includes a Level 2 charging wall unit or charge credits through Free2move Charge, Stellantis’ 360-degree ecosystem for seamless charging and energy management. The 500e’s 85-kW fast charger system can provide up to 31 miles (50 kilometers) of range with just five minutes of charge time. The 11-kW AC-DC on-board charger allows for easy home or road charging, with an estimated 0-80% charge time of 35 minutes and a full charge time of six hours with a Level 2 (11-kW) station.

Availability
The Fiat 500e Inspired By Los Angeles will be available for order this month, with deliveries to dealerships expected in the third quarter of 2024. Pricing starts at $36,000 (INR 30 lakh), not including the $1,595 destination fee. This model follows the (500e)RED edition and the Inspired By Beauty and Inspired By Music models, continuing Fiat’s tradition of blending Italian elegance with unique cultural influences.
