Hanoi, Vietnam – May 16, 2024 – VinFast Auto announced a record-breaking achievement of 27,649 non-refundable and non-transferable pre-orders for its mini-SUV, the VF 3, within just 66 hours. This milestone underscores the VF 3’s strong appeal and its potential to become a “national car” in Vietnam.
The VF 3’s impressive sales also made it a social media sensation in Vietnam, leading trend rankings and dominating online discussions since pre-orders opened.
The record pre-orders are attributed to the VF 3’s special introductory price of 235 million VND (approximately $9,248, battery subscription) and 315 million VND (approximately $12,390, battery included) for deposits placed between May 13 and May 15. This affordable pricing makes the VF 3 accessible to more consumers, enhancing their quality of life at a reasonable cost.
Customers only need a down payment of 50-70 million VND (approximately $1,965-$2,750), with the remaining balance available through affordable monthly installments of just over 2 million VND (approximately $78.5) over 8 years. Notably, paying for the VF 3 in full upfront is half the price of the cheapest gasoline car currently available in the Vietnamese market.
The VF 3’s sales success is also due to VinFast’s innovative sales strategy. For the first time in Vietnam, vehicles were sold on e-commerce platforms like Shopee and VinID, and orders could be placed through nine livestream sessions conducted by 15 influencers.
This approach resulted in over 50% of VF 3 orders being placed online, marking a significant development in the online-to-offline business model and highlighting VinFast’s pioneering role in the Vietnamese automotive market.

The VF 3, like other VinFast electric vehicles, comes with a market-leading warranty: 7 years or 160,000 km for the vehicle, and 8 years with unlimited mileage for the battery.
The first VF 3 cars are expected to be delivered to customers starting in August 2024, with at least 20,000 vehicles anticipated to be delivered this year.
