Toyota Technical Training Institute Opens Admissions for 2024-2025 Programs

Bengaluru, 17 May 2024: The Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) has announced the commencement of its admission process for the 2024-2025 academic year. The institute invites applications for both its TTTI Regular Program and the Toyota Kaushalya Program, aimed at transforming rural youth into world-class competitive technicians. These programs offer free training to academically inclined students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Karnataka, empowering them to pursue careers as skilled technicians.

The TTTI Regular Program offers a comprehensive three-year residential course focused on skill, knowledge, and attitude development. Meanwhile, the Toyota Kaushalya Program is a recently introduced two-year residential course designed to equip youth with essential skills for the manufacturing industry, enhancing their employability. Both programs follow a ‘Learn and Earn’ model, combining theoretical learning with On-the-Job Training (OJT). Under the mentorship of seasoned supervisors who serve as Master Trainers, participants receive high-quality instruction aligned with industry standards. The programs also emphasize holistic development, providing rigorous physical and mental conditioning along with advanced skill and knowledge acquisition.

G. Shankara, Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, commented, “As we open the doors for admissions to the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) for the year 2024, we reaffirm our commitment to transforming rural youth into world-class competitive technicians and ‘Producing Mass Happiness for All’. Through our TTTI Regular Program and the Toyota Kaushalya Program, we focus on developing their knowledge, skill, and attitude, thereby nurturing them from a 360-degree perspective. As a result, our graduates have fared well within India as well internationally including Japan and Middle East countries. Since its inception in 2007, TTTI has successfully graduated more than 900 students. We are proud that TTTI graduates have achieved commendable feats at prestigious competitions such as the National Skill Contest and World Skills Contest, thereby bringing pride to the nation. We are proud to contribute to the “Skill India” Mission and look forward to welcoming the next generation of skilled professionals into the Toyota family.”

In a significant step towards gender diversity, TTTI has recently doubled its intake from 600 to 1200 students, including up to 600 female students. Additionally, TTTI has been selected as one of the institutes under the Japan India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) skill transfer promotion program, aimed at inculcating Japanese-style manufacturing skills and practices, thereby contributing to the ‘Skill India’ Mission of the Government of India.
