The Expression of Interest (EoI) for the Matchmaking Event, announced today, is designed to catalyze the fusion of European and Indian ingenuity in the realm of battery recycling. By providing a unique platform for startups and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their cutting-edge solutions, this initiative seeks to spark a revolution in the handling and repurposing of EV batteries. With a vision of achieving a circular economy and carbon neutrality, the endeavor represents a significant stride towards a sustainable future.
The Matchmaking Event, slated for June 2024, promises to be a watershed moment in the drive towards eco-friendly technological solutions. With twelve innovators—six from each region—set to pitch their groundbreaking ideas, the event will culminate in the selection of six finalists. These trailblazers will then embark on an exchange program, offering them a firsthand experience of the challenges and opportunities present in their counterpart regions.
This initiative is more than a mere exchange of ideas; it embodies a collective commitment to the principles of sustainability, innovation, and economic synergy. Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, India’s Principal Scientific Adviser, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Our objective is to harmonize efforts with EU innovators to jointly develop battery recycling solutions that drive industry expansion.
