BENGALURU, March 23, 2024 – The bustling city of Bengaluru is gearing up for the 4th Edition of Prawaas 4.0, the flagship Multimodal Transport Show of India, announced by the Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI). Scheduled to take place from August 29-31 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), this event is poised to revolutionize the public transport sector under the enduring theme of “Safe, Smart, and Sustainable Passenger Mobility.”
Prawaas 4.0 aims to serve as a comprehensive platform for stakeholders across the spectrum of multimodal transport including manufacturers, fleet owners, and partners in metro and LEVs from across all 36 States and Union Territories. The event seeks to promote the increased adoption of public transport as a means to ease road congestion and achieve sustainability goals, aligning with the “Viksit Bharat” vision outlined by the Honorable Prime Minister of India.
The announcement was made at a curtain raiser event in Bengaluru, attended by luminaries such as Ramalinga Reddy, Karnataka’s Minister for Transport and Muzrai, and top officials from BOCI. Prawaas 4.0 is backed by several prominent Karnataka-based transport associations, emphasizing the state’s commitment to enhancing passenger mobility.
The event will feature a diverse array of activities, including insightful dialogues, an exhibition showcasing the latest industry trends and innovations, and an awards ceremony to honor standout contributions to the sector. This year, there will be a significant focus on the School Bus segment, Tourism, Electric Vehicles (EVs), and Metro systems, highlighting the event’s role as a beacon for future mobility solutions.
Among the corporations expected to participate are Tata Motors, redbus, Eberspaecher Suetrak, and many others, demonstrating the industry’s wide-ranging support for Prawaas 4.0. Ramalinga Reddy elaborated on the transformative potential of enhancing tourism and infrastructure to support the transport sector, highlighting initiatives like the online All India Permit Service and reduced parking fees at Kalasipalyam bus stop.
Prasanna Patwardhan, President of BOCI, emphasized the critical need for adaptability in the face of increasing personal vehicle use and infrastructure costs, advocating for a reimagined approach to public transport that bridges the gap between private and public transit.
With over 100 expert speakers, 200+ exhibitors, and an anticipated attendance exceeding 10,000 business visitors, Prawaas 4.0 is set to be a landmark event, driving forward the agenda for sustainable, efficient, and inclusive transportation solutions in India and beyond.
