Wolfsburg has become the launch pad for an electric thrill ride as Volkswagen revs up its lineup with the introduction of two new high-voltage heroes: the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer. In a dynamic duo debut, these models are sparking interest with their sporty flair and electrifying performance, set to energize the roads soon. Volkswagen’s all-electric ID. family, known for blending eco-friendly propulsion with exhilarating performance, adds these new stars under the performance-oriented GTX banner, a lineage inspired by Volkswagen’s iconic GT models.
The GTX models are not just about speed and power; they’re Volkswagen’s pledge to exciting, sustainable mobility. The popularity of the GTX series is evident, with one in every five new ID.4 and ID.5 vehicles in Europe wearing the GTX badge. Now, the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer are rolling out to carry on this electric legacy with distinct technical configurations for each model.
The ID.3 GTX Performance is the electric dream for speed enthusiasts, offering a top-tier, rear-wheel drive experience that’s likened to the electric sibling of the Golf GTI Clubsport. According to Kai Grünitz of Volkswagen’s Board of Management, this model is a compact sports car that delivers immediate and overwhelming power, promising a driving experience filled with “fascinating lightness.”
On the outside, the ID.3 GTX distinguishes itself with a unique design featuring a new diamond-style black air intake and sharp daytime running lights. Glossy black body elements, custom 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels, and a sporty interior with red decorative stitching and GTX-specific cockpit surface elevate the car’s sporty character.
The ID.7 GTX Tourer, the powerhouse of the lineup, showcases its strength with a dual-motor all-wheel drive, blending estate spaciousness with sports car performance. It makes a striking impression with a distinctive bumper, honeycomb grille, GTX-specific lighting, and illuminated badges. The spacious interior doesn’t skimp on luxury, offering heated seats with GTX lettering, red piping, and a generous luggage capacity up to 1,714 liters.
With the launch of the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer, Volkswagen is supercharging the transition to electric mobility, merging performance with practicality in a way that promises to keep the pulse of driving pleasure alive and electrified.
