In a move that’s paving the way for progress, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari today unleashed a road revolution in Maharashtra. With a grand inauguration in Ahmedpur and a virtual foundation stone-laying in Dharashiv, Gadkari flagged off 9 National Highway projects totaling a staggering Rs. 4,068.9 crore. The event, graced by State Minister Sanjay Bansode G, MPs Sudhakar Shringare and Prataprao Patil Chikhlikar, along with local MLAs, was marked by ceremonial rituals and widespread enthusiasm.
Latur district, the soybean sensation of India, is set to benefit immensely from these projects. The 4-laning of the Ausa-Chakur section on NH-361 and the Chakur-Loha section, part of the grand plan, promises to stitch together Marathwada and Vidarbha, enhancing connectivity across these vital regions of Maharashtra. Additionally, the refurbishment of the Ashta mode to Ashta and Tivatgyal to Malkapur section on NH-63 is now complete, guaranteeing smoother and safer journeys.
These newly launched highways are more than just roads; they’re lifelines. They promise to ease traffic, save time and fuel, and reduce pollution. Not just that, they offer a smoother path to revered destinations like Mahur Shaktipeeth, Nanded Gurdwara, and Tuljabhavani Temple in Tuljapur.
Meanwhile, in Dharashiv district, the groundbreaking ceremony of 3 national highway projects was conducted through the wonders of video conferencing. These projects are set to revolutionize connectivity between Latur Road Junction and Sonegaon Junction. The much-awaited Dharashiv Bypass is expected to alleviate the city’s traffic woes while boosting the transport of agricultural produce. With these developments, the future looks brighter: fewer accidents, safer travels, and a greener environment.
In sum, Gadkari’s grand gesture in Ahmedpur and Dharashiv isn’t just about laying asphalt; it’s about laying the foundations for a more connected, prosperous Maharashtra.
