January 2, 2023, Guwahati: In a significant move towards sustainable urban transportation, Tata Motors, the leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, has supplied 100 state-of-the-art electric buses to the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC). These 9-meter Tata Ultra electric buses, launched by Assam’s Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, are set to transform the commuting experience in Guwahati with their environmentally-friendly, zero-emission operations.
The Tata Ultra electric buses, designed for a seamless intra-city transit, are built on a next-generation platform, boasting the latest in vehicular technology. They come equipped with advanced battery systems, offering a blend of safety, comfort, and efficiency for the urban commuter. Air-conditioning, electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution, air suspension, and an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) are just some of the cutting-edge features these buses offer.
