AITO M9 Launches with Advanced Huawei Smart Car Solutions, starts at INR 56.7 lakh in China

December 26, 2023 – The AITO M9, a highly anticipated vehicle developed with Huawei’s comprehensive smart car solutions, has been officially launched. This new model is available in two powertrain options: an extended-range version (CLTC pure electric range of 225 km) and a pure electric version (CLTC range of 630 km). Each version comes in two configurations, Max and Ultra, with prices ranging from 469,800 to 569,800 yuan.

Advanced Technologies and Pricing

The M9 is a testament to cutting-edge automotive technology, featuring the Tuling intelligent chassis, HUAWEI ADS 2.0, a robust Xuanwu body, and the HarmonyOS 4 smart cockpit. The vehicle is priced as follows:

  • Extended-Range Max Edition: 469,800 yuan (INR 56.79 lakh)
  • Pure Electric Max Edition: 509,800 yuan (INR 59.87 lakh)
  • Extended-Range Ultra Edition: 529,800 yuan (INR 62.22 lakh)
  • Pure Electric Ultra Edition: 569,800 yuan (INR 68.89 lakh)

The extended-range version comes standard with a 42 kWh battery pack, offering a 225 km pure electric range. An optional 52 kWh battery pack extends this range to 275 km for an additional cost of 20,000 yuan (INR 2.34 lakh).

Customers can place orders through Huawei’s online store, authorized experience stores, the My Huawei app, and user centers. Those who order the M9 by February 26, 2024, can enjoy 10,000 yuan (INR 1.17 lakh) worth of optional benefits. Early bookings, before 12:00 PM on December 26, will see deliveries starting on January 26, limited to 2,000 slots. Wider-scale deliveries will begin on February 26. It’s noteworthy that the new M7 model has already surpassed 120,000 pre-orders, with over 60% opting for the smart driving version, and monthly deliveries are set to reach 30,000 units starting January.

Design and Features

The flagship M9 SUV employs Huawei’s new car family design language, showing a significant aesthetic improvement over the M5 and M7 models. The electric and extended-range versions differ mainly in their front air vents.

In terms of lighting, the M9 boasts an intelligent system comprising adaptive matrix headlights, smart projection headlights, and various other features like weather alerts and safety guides. The smart projection headlights can create a 100+ inch projection screen for an outdoor cinema experience.

The M9’s sturdy Xuanwu body is 80% aluminum, contributing to its light weight and large steering angle. The vehicle’s dimensions are competitive with similar models from brands like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The SUV also features a unique rear design with a continuous tail light and chrome protective plate.

Interior-wise, the M9 offers three color options and is furnished with high-grade Nappa leather, suede ceilings, and natural white oak wood. Its infotainment system includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central control screen, and a 16-inch co-driver entertainment screen, all integrated with HarmonyOS 4.

Power and Performance

The M9 is available in both extended-range and pure electric powertrains with dual-motor layouts. The pure electric version features a 97.682 kWh battery, providing a 630 km range under CLTC conditions. The extended-range version uses a 1.5T petrol engine with a dual-motor, offering up to 1,362 km combined range with the standard battery and 1,402 km with the optional battery.

The M9 stands out in the growing field of intelligent electric vehicles, competing with luxury brands and potentially drawing customers away from models like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. With its advanced features and competitive pricing, the AITO M9 is poised to redefine the large SUV market and the concept of smart driving.
